Stainless Steel Alien Burning Raygun

I have been designing an all stainless alien ray gun. It would be a burner with the look of something from outer-space. The parts are being machined on my lathe. There is a copper heatsink for the LD assembly in the end of the barrel. There would be a trigger and the shape would allow for easy exchange of rechargeable batteries. If I did do this project it would be a limited run. It would disassemble for shipping. No pics as of yet, but they will be coming soon..... Price not set as of now.

Your gonna need some pictures of what it is you're hoping to design if you want to get anyones interest.

And def. prices too^^. I would be interested, but have a feeling it's going to be out of my price range :(...

Yeah, I'm still building the prototype. It will look cool, and I'm thinking about having rechargeable 2 x cr123 and maybe switchable battery source.

No pics yet, however I'm in the process of creating the barrel tonight. It is very shiny.

The barrel is 95% complete. I am working on the grip and then the trigger. The prototype has some bronze parts for looks to add a 2-tone finish. This one is machined by me, but the others will be made on a CNC lathe. Still no pics yet.

Well the grip has been added, so I am just working out the details for the trigger assembly. It looks half way between Buck Rogers and the pistol at the beginning of James Bond/007 movies. No pics yet. There will be a limited run of 100 pieces.

I appreciate the responses, thanks. I have just installed the working trigger assembly and tested the internal wiring. The grip has been permanently attached, because this is a prototype. Pics soon......once the battery compartment, LD and driver have been installed. I would like the first pics to show the beam coming from the front of the barrel.

Update: I'm building a compact DDL driver to replace the larger driver/pill. I had a small setback, when my ultrafire rechargeable batteries killed an LPC/red diode. The batteries were fresh and putting out 8V. This slammed the LD to >400mW of beautiful red beam, for about 2 seconds. I usually don't have success when running higher than about 7.3V on the front end of the DDL driver with Long Open Can red diodes, even with the current at pushed but normal levels. I installed a dropping diode on the positive lead coming from the batteries, and dropped the current by 30%. So far it's working nicely but needs that smaller driver built up today. Should have pics tonight. Then I contact the machinist with the industrial CNC lathe.
