so if i jumped in on this buy, since you are checking all lasers i would pay the cost of the laser, $8 for additional shipping to you then, what would shipping to me be? or it would be $30 to get it shipped directly to me?

Good question. I am figuring buyers have two options:
  1. Pay 30USD (+8USD for each additional unit) and the seller direct ships to the buyer.
  2. Pay the same as above, PLUS 8USD per unit (to cover the shipping cost to me) and I will test, review and LPM the unit(s). I then reship the item(s) to the buyer (using fees collected for #1)

It isn't perfect, but that $8 gets you an LPM'd and tested unit. I'm willing to do this at no charge, if we can get all the fees covered.

For those buyers with LPMs, this may not be very attractive. But for those without, it may be something their willing to cover the fees to get. Before I owned my first power meter, it kinda sucked not knowing what a laser was really putting out. This is an opportunity to have your units tested and measured by someone without a conflict of interest (as in, not the seller.)

alright, just thought about something. if your placing an order it would only cost $8 shipping for each additional unit to you, so if we sent you the funds for our unit + $8 for the additional unit shipped to you then that would cover shipping into the US. then as long as the case is less than 13 5/8 long x 11 7/8" wide x 3 3/8" tall then it will fit in a medium flat rate box which costs $12.35 to ship. that would be ~$21 to get the unit from the seller to you then to the buyers. that is a better deal than $30 direct from the seller and then you can LPM them when they come in. $30 shipping from you to the buyer seems high especially when they should fit in flat rate boxes, even a large flat rate cost $16.85.
please correct me if im wrong anywhere in my estimates or misunderstood your shipping quotes.

I like this idea. We may be able to LPM these and reship them for LESS cost than direct shipping. Wow.

Some questions come to mind. Will the case fit within the flat-rate shipping box? Is there room for bubble wrap? Do we need bubble wrap? Will I have to buy bubble wrap? What about shipping two units? What are our options, there? There may be some risk involved with this idea until we have more answers, though.

And until we have some solid answers, it may be wise to explore this idea in round #2, if there even is one.

For size we can ask s member who has the same case from lazerer
Two should fit in a large flat rate if they are the size im thibking. Im glad to help get some of these answers with you. Bubble wrap is decently cheap, y ou van get s large roll at walmart.
From experience flat rate boxes are normally treated pretty well sodepending ob the extra space in th e box we may not need bubble wrap

What about a partial refund, or something?

If actual shipping costs are lower than the shipping fees, then I can refund the difference back through PayPal. I'm not out to make a profit on shipping. I just want to make sure everything is covered.

I just sent a message to the seller asking if they will send me case dimensions.

I don't think I can promise to ship these in a flat-rate priority box, until I confirm they fit in the box. If they do and it saves us money, then I say we go for it.

^^Sounds like a plan to me :)

EDIT: Case sold by Lazerer
if it is the same as this one then it is 9" x 6.3" x 2.7"

That would fit in a medium flat rate and have room for padding, either news paper to help from shifting left to right or bubble wrap

will the batteries being in the kit be an issue w customs?

In the last GB I was in, the batteries were omitted from the order. We were shipping all over in that one. It may be wise to withhold them from this order, too.

The seller has other hosts and products. But to keep it simple, we went with just the one host and diode selection at the moment.

It is not the same AliExpress store number as the seller we are using. But behind the scenes? who is to say if it's the same or not?
