this is a GB feeler on my new heatsink . i want to make another run of them  but i  want to see  how many people want/need them  so i know i'm not wasting my time making more . they will cost 33.00 usd each plus shiping

EDIT i had to make a change on the price . i now have to buy the bit's needed to mill them and rent machine time  . @ 33.00 usd apeice  i just brake even  on making these . i will give a discount on order's of 5 or more . i am also up for any imput on design change's .

there size is 1"x1"x2" . each one is made from a soild block of aluminum
they are drilled out for the aixiz module and have a setscrew on the top as well as four mounting slot's

here's some pic's of them :

I just wish DX could sell their "labby" style red lasers to US customers, because they're pretty much like these ones (no mounting holes though), only much cheaper, and they come with the laser and its optics already.

Hmm.. the DX labby modules are of pretty bad machining quality (bent fins, not too flat surfaces etc) really, nothing compared to these (see the other thread with the pictures). The DX ones are a tad bigger though, with thinner fins, so they might do a better cooling job on their own.

The ones here could be fitted onto a surface to conduct heat further, probaby even with a TEC in between for mild sub-ambient operation.

I feel your pain brother - I did a run of 18 and have sold 3...But all of my diodes look great in my own heatsinks! I would suggest you gold anodize them, that would look great!

hmm that's a good idea . it's seem's most people are not willing to pay for quality CUSTOM heatsink's . btw i love your clamshell design

They aren't as good looking and well made as DTMF's but in the end they're less than half the price and come with more stuff. Performance-wise I'm sure the DX heatsinks could also have TECs or other stuff rigged up to their flat surface on the bottom as well.

DTMF: Have you considered modifying the design to accomodate TECs? Perhaps a multi-piece heatsink that allows a TEC to be sandwiched in-between the two pieces of metal? I remember seeing some custom designs for that kind of thing, involving merideth modules and such. The labby-style heatsinks really need some unique feature to make people want it for more than looking better than the competition.
