these are really kewl-makes your laser images look 3-D.

about 4 X 8 inches and can be cut with band saw.

the LaserKing PD-2 has these inside & they rotate-nice!! And it was seen in these which gave the idea of a GB for them Greg 'Displaser' ran the GB and will again -he will deal with the lasershow forum & I will handle LPF.

THANKS DZ- that shows some of what an be done with these-DZ knows Displaser and can vouch that we got a super deal from him on these-he added almost no profit and that was taken when one or two never arrived --so Greg sent another no charge..

... these are fairly easy to cut with a band saw- it is what makes the 3D looking images from the LaserKing PD-2- & it looks like it does because its a rotating round piece w/ no hole or mount in the middle--turned instead with a motor-teeth are on the outer part-

While interesting these make the better images with a projector as opposed to a portable handheld..- try it also with LiQ.Sky-Spiro and Tunnel efx-neato!!

ATM we do not have a price-Greg needs to relocate the source and try for the best deal (i e larger order means lower price per piece)

I really dont know how much I paid-- maybe 6$ apiece.

Do you remember 'toys' from long ago that when you turned it the image changed-
Lenticular lenses work the same way- changed the angle of view changed the image-
this was done a very long time ago with sign outside stores-as you looked and drove/walked by the image changed- From that the toy version came..


iirc these are 4 X 6 inches--maybe 1/8 th inch thick..

Interesting video, it's sort of a holographic like effect, how's it work?

From what I can see from the videos in youtube, these are similar to fresnel lenses but are in strips not circles. Thus the effect is similar to cylindrical lenses that spread the beam sideways.

These are used for hologram 3D pictures or those pics that change images as you change the viewing angle to the picture.

'sorta grooves- pointy parts- splits stuff dot becomes a squiggly line which rotates with the lens
cicles look like long cones -- I made a holder (Velcro) for a piece on the front of some of my PJs
found a 'toy' thingy with battery powered ~3 inches diameter but an edge and glued a piece so it turns with 1.5 vdc 5 rpm -can control that a little with adjustable ac/dc

using the silding tray from a CD Rom 'drawer'
I can make it move into the beams or out..pics later

Yep you got the shape right. It's the reason it makes that cool sound when you run your fingernails across it

its fairly flat on one side-I am guessing that to avoid any backbeams to the LD that hitting the grooved side first would be wise-=-(diffused reflection)

I have a project in mind for 2016 !!!! Thanx !!! Will you be doing rectangular shapes ?? Size ?? Easy to band saw cut ? Hey...how about using a 6" hole saw ??? That would generate a fairly round shape....with no centre hole.....Then set up with a slow RPM motor to edge drive. About .125" thickness ?? In any case...put me down for a two !! Thanx !!

My lens just showed up yesterday.
It was 15.50$ to ship to Oregon from the link hak provided. It came with 10.
They are made of what seems to be an acrylic "plexi glass" material. So it could easily be cut.
When I first tried it out with my RGV projector I didn't think it was that interesting. But after turning the lights off and trying a few patterns on my DMX controller it came to life.
Spinning squares now appear to be cubes. I first thought it had protective film on it, but its actually adhesive. I then just stuck the lens onto the PJ.. put it on auto mode and watched the brand new show.
I did not test it with my hand helds. The only ones sitting around were a few 1watt 445's that I have no intention of using that combo. I think tonight is gonna be apartment fog night. My roommate will hate me... again.


I did not get any pics. My phone is terrible. If I get any good ones I will try and post.
HIGHLY RECOMENDED.

MMMmmmm..I am confused.....In the linked video....it shows both the lenticular lens rotating.....and the projector image also in rotation...OK

I can see that the lenticular lens....extrudes the flat image....into a 3D image...OK....but....what....does what ???

if one projected a stationary image thru the rotating lenticular lens....what would you see ??

or...
