I have both sitting at home and its not a huge difference. Diameter barely smaller and the length might be ~1-2 cm less I'd say.

Will probably buy my hosts this week.
Though i recently found this old host that takes 1x18650.

it's the focusable head i made a while back.

I'm tempted to buy 100 of these and have sinks and focus adapters made for it.
Would be awesome with black anodized focus head.

This is the focusable head host....I really love this one.

These disappeared and showed back up in 3xaaa version, which is a lot fatter than the one in the video. The website assures me that they have the 18650 version like below.

Oh I want one of those!

How much more will they be? Even if the price goes up to $20 I'd still rather have those.

REALLY?!?!

It's one of my all time favorites. I love being able to focus the laser using the entire head.

Those actually would be around the $20 range, as the host is more expensive.

I've also spoke to Kenom briefly about take over production of Krytons and paying him royalties for each one i sell.

All these things take big $$, and I'm in the middle of trying to buy a new house, so the down payment/closing costs/inspections are making things a bit difficult.

Moh, did you upgrade your lathe from that precision mini lathe (harbor freight) to a bigger one?
That focusable host is pretty neat actually.

Nope. I have the chinese make all my parts now. Can't justify wasting my time doing it when I can get them at slave labor prices.

You can count me out on those focusable head ones. It's really cool that the head focuses the laser but that is just ugly as it gets for me :(

beauty is in the eye of the beholder...definitely.

I plan on doing both. it's just a matter of which comes first.

Guidesmans guidesmans guidesmans. I like there looks especially with the focus adapters you used to make. They look awesome with black or chrome adapters.

interested in 2 (I don't find them ugly, true: they aren't the most flashy and trendy hosts, but appear very practical to me and that compensates for the 'older' design IMO)

I like the focusing head a lot! you can count me in on 3 or more of these kits, also I might have an older guidesman already here and would like to add a sink and whatever so I can make use of it.
