thanks amkdeath!

So what are these phazor diodes rated for does anybody know? I know they're supposed to output over 200mW but what does that equal out to in terms of current.. Is there a simple conversion for current to power output?

DL, I will send you one in the new package (the GB order). I do not plan on killing this diode (it arrived), but I have placed it into an AixiZ but have not yet gotten the time to even turn it on or anything yet.

I am now packing to move to a new place (I HATE moving... but what can one do? :-[) and suppose nothing will be done for at least a few weeks' time. This will not slow down the GB though as the laser treasure will not get 'boxes' up, just pushed aside for a little bit :)

While we're all waiting I have a question. Whats a safe current to run these at compared to the senkat diodes? I guess more specifically, what would you say is an appropriate resistance to use in the DDL regulator circuit?

I ask because I have a senkat diode breadboarded up right now with four AAA batteries and 5 ohms of resistance (in the DDL circuit) and my voltmeter broke and I don't know how much current it's putting out, just that it's the right amount for a senkat diode. But these Phazor diodes are supposed to run at a much higher current correct? So what do you think I can use in place of the 5ohm resistor?

(or should I just buy a new voltmeter and save myself the trouble ::))

With that said... V / R = I Where V = 1.24, and R = resistance, and I = output current. :)

My suggested current? Hmm... maybe... 350? 400? ;D That would be about 3.333 ohms... BUT HOW? You may ask... simple... put 3 10-Ohms in parallel ;)

how about 420mA? I knwo thats a magical number for open cans, how about these? Id rather have one of my 3 homs instead of 3 10 ohms...

I want one of these Phasor diodes if I'm able to drive them.

I currently have DDL's driver circuit driving SenKat's GB diode. What modifications or adjustments would I have to make to run these Phasor diodes now? Can anyone plese briefly let me know? From the posts above I gather I would need a few 10ohm resistors in parallel?

most people are using a 3 Ohm resistor, thats what i plan on, it will give you 420mA with the LM317T, if you have a pot you dont really need it to make the driver work either. dont forget your safety glasses!!!

reply # 82 states that you must modify the DDL circuit and instead of 5 ohms, make it 3.33 or so ohms. which would be 3 10ohms in parallel

in the DDL driver for a senkat diode, you have 5 ohms, or 2 10 ohms in parallel.

build the exact same circuit as the DDL driver for a senkat diode, except instead of the 2 10ohm resistors in parallel, do 3 10 ohms in paralell

so in other words I just have to solder 1 more 10 ohm resistor in parallel with the 2 existing ones and then I can use the PSU to drive the Phasor diodes. yeah?
