Though my question was already answered by Dr. Lava when I got my Corr Optics in the Mail a few days ago, along with set up instructions :-)

My high school math teacher once told us: "the only stupid question is one that is asked because you weren't paying attention when you should."

Default Re: Cylindrical correction optics for 445, 638

I'm wanting to try and get these DrLava correction optics into a pointer and have drew up a little carrier that should hold the lenses and allow them to be inserted in front of an aixiz module. The 9mm bore on the carrier should allow it to be placed over the exposed aixiz lens nut so the collimating lens can be as close to the optics as possible. An oring on the outside of the lens carrier should allow it to be placed in the pointer and stay oriented with the diode fast axis. I think a long as the lens-resting surfaces are milled at the same time in the same fixure setup that the surfaces will all be straight and make alignment simple. (?)

I'm still planning the carrier but don't have my own set of correction optics yet. So I'm not sure what kind of spacing to expect. Does anyone what the typical spacing is on the corrective lenses with good collimation?a

The pic below is drawn to scale. (third angle projection, 1 pixel = 0.1mm)
I think this module may be able to fit into focus adapters ad add less than 1" to the overall length of handheld pointers...

On the first post in this thread, Dr lava has a link (get lenses here) so 1-30-2011 I orderd a set and they came in about 5 days. they are sure nice! thank you DR Lava. I don,t know how many are left, but I would try it, if you need any. mine are going on my JayRob 445nm L2P. Also, lazybeam If you make any extra corretive optics holders like in your picture I want to buy one.I think it would be good to have it thread or slide on the threaded axis lens itself. Later guys

has anyone had any luck with designing and/or building an adjustable fixture for these lenses? I've had trouble setting mine up and dont have access to any milling or machining equipment.
