I started a group buy on photonlexicon and wanted to extend it to laserpointerforums as well.

I have access to a CNC machine shop and can make a run on optical breadboards if I could get at least 5 people interested.

I understand there would be a variety of dimensions requested, I can accomodate any length/width/height and thread size. I presume most will want 1/4-20 every square inch.

Material would have to be cast aluminum. Cast aluminum is the sensible choice due to its light weight and resistance to warping.

Plates would be ground flat with a tolerance of .002". I am an experienced machinist and am confident everyone will like my work.

Approximate pricing would depend on thickness:

1/2" - $65 sq/ft
3/8" - $60 sq/ft

Please message me with your specifications and I can give a more precise quote. I would like all orders to be a minimum of 3 sq ft, because setup for anything less is not feasible, unless you want a quantity order on a small size.

If you are 100%, please also include your name, address, phone #, and email in your message. I will assemble a list here in the first post for the confirmed. I will have to collect payment from all before ordering material. Once we get 5 people I will send notification through email and a paypal request for payment.

I'd love to have one, but I'm on the other side of the ocean, and it's more than I can afford.

Unfortunetely shipping would be quite expensive overseas.

For reference, a 2' x 3' breaboard weighs approximately 40lbs. Fedex ground is pretty cheap within the US.
