If we groove the bottom, it will give us a tiny bit more range too - because we can use it on smaller hosts with 1 or 2mm lips- see:

well if the idea is to go "universal", I'd say this, make it only 16-18mm as to allowing it to be used on small pocket builds AND still be better than the stock aixiz knobs on larger builds. 2nd, You should make the threading not go in too deep as alot of us are probably using g1/g2 lenses the lens nut needs to go in deeper than with aixiz lenses. Thickness should be at 8mm. and as far as material, we should use the cheapest available. 6061 or 6063 is probably the way to go. RHD, your first 2 designs are probably the best way to go. I know with emachineshop, they charge base on how much time is spent setting up as well. the more details = more tools used = more setting up = more cost. I mean we are trying to find a cheap alternative to the aixiz focus rings right? those are like 40 cents each. The regular aixiz focus rings are only 12.5mm diameter or so. 18 should be just large enough while still being useable on the smallest hosts.

I still think 22mm is best. people who have small builds can just use the normal aixiz knob.

Add a Lip to make it fit on the Pocket Mini and I vote make it 19 mm due to the fact it can be used on everything (with the lip):thinking: It also Needs a Knurled Edge IMO
