Alright guys, good news.

I got the go ahead to make these, and I'll have them all done next weekend (My uncle's getting married this weekend, I completely forgot about that so my weekend is shot!)

I can make them for the same price as Emachineshop, that was $750 shipped right? I'll be able to do them a little cheaper next time since I'll have the endmills and programs left over from this time.

Let me know if that works (and if Emachineshop will refund the $$$) and I'll order the endmills. Had to spend a good bit of time to find the things, it's not very easy to find endmills in a small diameter like that with the length of cut to get all the way through these guys.

These take a weekend of work, maybe half a weekend if I kick it in gear. The arctics will take just a bit more than a weekend!

if you all havent noticed lately...i havent been on the forums alot... last weekend up until yesterday saw 4 birthdays pass... 7 bottles of Hennesy Priviledge, 2 bottles Cordon Bleu, 2 bottles Grey Goose... and countless heineken 24 packs... my liver hurts now

on another note, heres the email i got from machine shop this morning...

Thank you for your e-mail.
Your drawing indicates a tap depth of 1.00mm
The deepest we can tap would be 1.50mm
Please reply and confirm that we may proceed with a 1.50mm depth.

that was what i remembered...but they are stating they can only pull off 1.5mm tap depth...sooo i dunno man...

....so ask for clarification :)

Tell them that you thought tge drawing said 3mm for tap depth. See what they say.

They cleared up all the tap issues with my order quite straightforwardly.

I need to know ASAP if you want these by next weekend, It'll take a week for me to get the special endmills that I need. Of course I could still do them next-next weekend, but that's sort of far away...

I have no idea why they would be running a tap, the little bitty threads load a tap up faster than you can clean them out. I think they got the 3mm depth confused with 1mm, It wouldn't be possible to run a tap much deeper than 1.5mm in a 3mm deep stepped hole. They're probably trying to say that they can tap to 3mm but your only going to get 1.5mm of useable threads.

I'd tell them you want it single point threaded with a thread relief cut, they should be able to get at least 2mm of thread engagement with 3mm of total thread depth that way. That's the way I do all of my modules, it's possible to thread the lens in till it bottoms out that way.

before i can give you the go, i need to see if emachineshop will refund my money first... They take days to respond so I dont know when/if a full refund can happen.

well i guess its a no go with cancelling...thanks pontiag for the offer...wish you were around when we were still in the collecting stage...

emachineshop has told me that i can cancel but there will be charges due for the work that has been done already...it looks substantial like over $100 so its probably best if we just wait this one out.

Can they get us the parts made per design or are they still having issues with that? I'm surprised about them not letting you cancel even though the completion date is so far out. I am in no hurry at this point so please don't think I'm complaining. I'm just surprised at their business practice.

Steve, please call me. I feel you are avoiding my calls. You garanteed me 2 days to get the 405-g-1 lens, and its been 4 will no cantact.
