Re: CNI Laser Pointers

This is only a good buy if for the X-125 and X-150. But with shipping to the US, it's worth the $50 difference for the warrenty, and quality assurance from Nova.
Sorry, the discount isn't great enough IMHO.

Re: CNI Laser Pointers

your price just on the x100 type is allready $40 higher than Novas I cant be bothered to convert the rest of the prices.
As well I know Nova tests every laser they sell and have a very good waranty

Heya Lorgar :) Nova does sell CNI products - but you can ask Psuedo about the "wild card" lasers he gets from CNI - he buys them at one price for a certain power "range" if I am not mistaken.

considering the bluefusion driver group buy results you may need some time to prove yourself with a lot of us, especially at 19.

Nothing personal, but IMHO, on most of the forums I've been in, there are always a couple people that start group buys and the results are not pretty (example noted above). Most are teenagers and most of the time they are newer to that particular forum.

So, you have an uphill battle, but if you are a good guy I hope it works out. Nice to see the variety on the group buy, more options for us is always good!!!!

I do know that it is hard to organize a good group buy, so im turning this topic to a feeler to poll if there would be people that would like to to have a cni laser. Later on ill make a real group buy.

For the x-series it wil be really hard to compete whith nova especialy if you are in the US since my shipping costs are really high. if you were in europe it would become lots and lots more interesting, since you dont have to deal with 23 euros of shipping.

For the heavier types such as alpha series or nova series it is easy to have a lower price since nova make lots more profit on these.

If i am able to get at least 10 units i amable to lower most prices by at least 10 euro's.

But still it would be more interesting for european people

Those prices are higher than Nova's unless I am computing the whole Euro thing wrong ( I have no idea what the Euro trades at - and lots of folks on here probably won't give this a second glance because they deal with U.S. Dollars, not Euros). Somethings you may want to consider :
1. What will you do in the event of a customs seizure ?
2. What type of warranty do you provide ?
2a. We send YOU the laser, and then you ship it off for replacement ?
2b. We send the laser direct to CNI ?
3. Do you have an FDA license to sell these in the U.S. ?
4. Have you filed an exception request with the FDA ?

That is only a tiny list of the items that should be considered when trying to organize a GB - I got burned big time with the "SenTorch" GB - and there were a TON of people waiting forever for their lasers ! I know, you seem only to want to help out, which is fine - it is not a capitol offense here, honest ! Unless you are dealing with massive quantities of lasers, with iron clad guarantees - I don't think you will get too many nibbles here - sorry.

1. The lasers are marked as 1 mW on the anti-static bag and on teh shipping bill so this usualy won't be any problem, but if customs take them away i will make sure it will get replaced.

2. CNI provides 6 months of warranty on the lasers
2a. You could do that but if you are in the US i think 2b would be a cheaper option
2b. We send the laser direct to CNI ?

3. I don't have an FDA licence
4. No, i have not

Re: CNI Laser Pointers for Europe - Feeler

Keep in mind, I am not hammering you for the sake of fun - in the US - lasers are confiscated at Customs constantly ! What is the current exchange rate for the Euro ? All of these prices mean very little to me, or other lazy folks like me that don't know the exchange rate. (in U.S. Dollars, please - no conceit intended)
My GB for lasers was held up in customs several times, due to the large number of lasers being brought into the U.S. - lots of time, and some fancy paperwork, along with refusing a few shipments later, they were finally shipped out to everyone. I do wish you luck in your endeavor - you didn't flee at the first sign of resistance - which is good to see :) Hang around a bit, work on the prices, work out a cement returns/exchange policy and you may be able to sell them on this forum ! Good Luck to you !

1 Euro = 1.54100 U.S. dollars

I do know customs can be a pain in the ass, but you can greatly reduce the chance of beeing delayed in the customs whith some creative paperwork. Also al lasers are sealed in an antistatic bag and both the sticker on the bag and on the laser tell it is a Class II <1mw laser, ofcourse in real life they are way more powerfull.

Currently i am trying to lower the prices but, for this i need some numbers (10+). It would be hard to compete with nova with the simple lasers beceause novalasers buys a batch of lasers @CNI and then labels them with their proper output power.

I have to buy them by a specified power wich is at least reached by a laser. For example my CNI laser does 170mW average. A 150mw type it could be any were between 150mW and 200mw. In this case i am not talking about peak powers but about average, and as most of you know the out put of these lasers is really stable so this wont be far from the peak.

For the heavier or tropical colored types the only real competetion is laser glow, of course im unable to offer the same service as laserglow, but my prices of these units are way better, by example: the aquarius 20mw sells at 1589 dollar --> 1031 euro. I'm able to offer this unit for 585 euro.

An aquarius 20 for under 600 USD? Start a GB for that and you'll probably get some good feedback.

damn, my mistake, thats the trouble with 2 kinds of currency it was suposed to be euro's.
In dollar it would be 896 dollar. It seems to me that this is still way cheaper then laser glow with 1589 dollar but some what less atractive then 585 dollar

Re: CNI Laser Pointers for Europe - Feeler

I started a thread like this a while ago, for the 150mW CNI pen, and since CNI quoted me the price in Euros, the dollar price was changing (growing) almost every single day. In the end it would be hardly cheaper than from Nova.

Did you consider the custom fees and taxes, that you would most likely have to pay when importing larger amounts?

I had to pay 46 Euro brokerage and custom fees on top of everything in the end, when i got my 150mW CNI. Don't Dutch customs charge this? Of course our customs are way more anal than in any other country. They don't even let larger orders pass if it is not made on a company. But i would expect at least the last part to be the same pretty much anywhere.

well since the dollar rises a bit last time eventualy it could be come cheaper eventualy, aldough i dont think Us economy is strong enough to keep up this rise. We'll see what happens...

I have inclueded custom fees to the netherlands. This will say IF they charge it, since dutch customs are kinda lazy it is a 50% chance they do :p

About larger orders i have orderd some larger lasers (600-1100mW RGB ILDA) and this gave no problem at all......

You are lucky man! Ours are OBSESSED with squeezing every last cent out of you, whenever you order something.

When i said larger orders, i meant multiple pieces of the same thing, not big things. :D

I once ordered a dozen of cheap sunglasses, and our customs didn't want to let them through, because they said it looks like i have "intention to sell".
I had to write a statement, about me ordering this for my basketball club (which i was never part of)... ;)

i think dutch custom just are busy smoking what they find inside the shipments.

Anyway the orders with the larger lasers were multiple pieces :p

;D You are lucky man!

Our customs make it impossible for me to conduct a GB or sell anything at competitive prices and actually earn a bit off it..
