I never said there was a problem? I'm sorry...I do not follow.

I simply said I want to put my money into research, and conduct my own experiments, and do my own work. Rather than just buying lasers.

Just curious thats all.
I was curious about what is the topic of the research
Like , "I'm researching the implication of lasers in general lighting purposes"
or
"I'm researching practical laser transportation"
or whatever.
just curious

Thats curious george btw...

Thanks for organising the next GB, wannaburnstuff:beer:

Just to clarify, in the post 265 of this thread I've stated I'd rather prefer 473nm 80mW instead of 589nm 80mW due to the price of the yellow being higher this time then in previous GB. I'm willing to go for 589nm 80mW only if the price doesn't go over $600.

:thanks:

I am going to try and negotiate the 585 base price with Ava. Obviously there will still be shipping/insurance fees, but would you be going with 473 or 589 if 585 was the base price for the 80mW model 589?

I was planning on getting both but now college has started and I need to start saving money. I personally prefer blue over yellow and that is what I plan on getting. :D

If the base price could be negotiated to $585 for 589nm 80mW and there's enough people interested, I'm definitely in! Otherwise I stick to 473nm 80mW instead (again with 10 people at least to get discounted price).

Cheers!

Noob question: Has anyone had any luck opening up one of these lasers for repairs or reconfiguration?

All the lasers in the GB are DPSS if I remember right. I wouldnt try repairs yourself.

DPSS lasers are extremely difficult to align. I would not be able to do such a feat haha. However I would like to buy a pump diode and the optics and do some experimenting.

Not touching a DPSS. Ever. I've done it before with a laser of my own, and I will never do it for someone else. Maybe replace a pump diode, but that's about it.

We're talking about movements in the micrometer scale determining if you see green or dim red.

Wannaburn, change me to a 473nm 80mW, otherwise I need to back out of this GB. I hope we can get enough in the 473nm group... :undecided:

I'm most likely only in if the 80mW 589nm goes back to $585. Given the interest on yellow I think you should really focus on convicing Ava to go back to the old price :p

Twice now that I have spawned one of these, and gotten nothing from them.

Actually my third GB with no gain, lol. I should stop trying :p

You've done well, Burn, thank you for taking this off my hands.
