Hello folks! I am back home, and testing the lasers. I have very good news for Hemlock and all the pen laser buyers, these are very good and powerful units! Here's the flip side, (bad news); The two PGL III 300 mW units were both DOA! I got a brief output on one but the second time I turned it on, after 15 sec. on my metering, it went out, and that was it! the second one was no light at all! How dissapointing! I have several charged 18650 batteries, and the 400 mW works with all of them, so it's the 300 mW PGL's that are not working. RATS! I hate it when a laser just arrived and needs to be RMA'd! I also got my the first time, I've testred a PGL R/G. This unit is doing well, and is a completely different shade of yellow than I thought it would be. It is, (to my eye), a lemon yellow, not a golden or orange/ yellow like the 593.5 nm, but more like I would guess 570 nm. Of course lots of folks see yellow and orange differently as our eye cones are mixing the signals of red and green, and there are no eye cones that actually see only yellow or orange light. The PGL R/G has about 140 mW red and about 40 mW of green, so it's output is about 180 mW with both combined. I was really upset that the folks who ordered the 300 mW PGL III's were to be further delayed and dissapointed, but at lease all of the other lasers are completely fine. One other small problem was CNI forgot to include the pen laser key lock that was asked for, but it will be sent soon as well. Thanks to all of you who joined in this GB! I will get the RMA items and missing item as soon as possible. And I'll finish testing and get on to shipping all the good ones ASAP! So, it's on the way Hemlock, (and others!) Thanks Again! -Glenn

Yay your back! Glad to hear that the pen lasers are performing well! The pen laser key lock was mine, no biggie, just send it out whenever you can. I can not wait to get my laser!

Hey Glenn I read in the Cni GB 5th time thread that you had mailed there lasers. Isn't this thread right here about the 4th GB? If so shouldn't our lasers be mailed by now? Not trying to be impatient but I just really want my laser! Anyways, just give me an estimate as to when I can expect you to ship them. Thanks!

I got my "yellow" from Glenn today !! It's the gold color I wanted. It is rated at .6 to 2 Mw but as I expected, it is quirky with this current science. Seems very temperature sensative but normally runs 5 mW with peaks over 8 mW using e2 cells.
NO it won't pop or light but the color is super. I will try to post a graph of the power but I'm quite limited on pictures here anymore.

Mike

I took this picture with fog outside. Not a great pix and limited to a 3x5 size here. good color
