Ok I'm leaning towards CNI now. Abolfazl and I are both. Would you guys like us in your group buy, and do you have more advice to sway us from the o-like cheapie?

i would like 300mw plus a beam expander depending on price

My laser just came! This thing is amazing! The beam is very tight, much more so than my old LedShoppe 50mW. Also, this is FAR overspec. I'm guessing in the ~100mW range. So far, I've been able to light matches (non-sharpied) from 3 feet! My friend's Viper 75 couldn't even light a sharped match at all! Thanks Glenn for your service and prompt shipping! Thank you thank you thank you!

I'll look into CNI beam expander costs and specs. Lazoerman, I would be sure you like the beam specs before you order, we got a 635 nm red and the beam was too wide at aperature, about 1x 6 mm, and at 8 feet it went 10 x 10 mm, so it wasn't much for beam specs. I also saw a PGL III -C- 808 nm Drew bought and there the beam specs were about the same. It's no good for the burning most do with the red diode lasers, but it c/b good for pumping crystals I suppose. -Glenn

K thanks Scope guy! I'm hoping with a beam expander and one of Larry's lenses I can have a killer burning laser.

How much was your CNI 260mw laser? Or are you interested in selling :) My friend is slightly impatient

hey Game-genie, the RG comes with more output as well, but I am told that the higher output ones are not the pleasing yellow shade. Here's what the rep recommended:

"PGL-RG-150mW/Unit USD $400.00 which has perfect result"

I got my seriously over-powered yellow today (what would be the Vega if it had come from LaserGlow) and wow is it brilliant! The sun was still out this afternoon when I went to fire it up for the first time, and I pointed it out the window at the side of a tree that the sun was shining on, and I could very easily see the dot!

Later on, I compared it to my 140mw 405nm, and visually both were about the same brightness. I haven't yet checked it against my WL Core, but I have a feeling it will outshine that too! Glenn's meter wasn't working, and unfortunately I'm still meter-less at this point, so I can't say what the output actually is.

If/when the next CNI GB is, if you're looking for a nice bright yellow you might want to consider one of these - you might get lucky and get an over-powered one!

Do they sell little 5mw pens?

Cheapie green ones

Yes they do, the 5 m pens are $30 before shipping, after these go to me and out to a USA buyer, it w/b about $40. They are the only ones that they do try to keep at 5 mW as all the higher output ones are aimed at over power. For example, I got one of the 50 mW rated pens, and it's a cherry picked about 100 mW. LOL!

Alright hmmm depending on how much money I have I might get one

Any word on the prices on beam expanders or safety goggles yet?

Edit: I'm really glad they make the 5mw ones 5mw, I don't want my gf blinding herself, and do they really cherrypick the lasers for us? And do you have a meter I could pay you to test my laser?

I haven't found these prices yet, The beam expander designs are apparently two types, before the head or over it. I will see about goggles, but I feel that the best price and certified protection are from OEM Laser Systems.

Other laser prices:

PGL-III-C-532nm-300mW/Unit USD530.00
PGL-III-808nm-50mW/Unit USD260.00
PGL-III-808nm-100mW/Unit USD295.00

I will get beam expander specs and prices... -Glenn

I have a meter, but it recently became non-functional, I will likely have the opportunity to meter the lasers with daguins meter though. Metering the lasers w/b no cost.
