That is the key switch. The one in the diagram has a momentary switch.

Based on Glenn's post, he may not be able to get the clicky-only M anymore.

aw... I sure hope that's not the case

That's the FDA compliant version with all the safety features. Make sure when you order to tell Glenn to order it without the safety features. http://www.dragonlasers.com/catalog/photos/800/sbp1.jpg There's a link showing it with out the safety features. It has a rear tail clicky.

Well that works for me!
You don't think they would include a clicky switch in the back AND the momentary push switch on the side do you?

btw, that picture looks amazing!

Well, this is what he said:

Everyone please note:

Any laser that is not FDA approved for use in the USA such as GLP 532 nm >5 mW is not going to be offered unless you pay to ship to your country, (non-USA address) separately from my GB and or are buying a "laser Module" which you still must be responsible for incorporating into your own device which still is required to conform to FDA/CDRH rulings. I will not take an illegal order!

All the PGL III portable lasers are fully compliant with ascension numbers and safety devices, as are the GLP 593.5nm and such that are <5 mW.

Sounds like Glenn doesn't want illegal lasers shipped to him anymore. Maybe if you get CNI to ship directly to your address? It seems based on that quote that you can still get one if you pay for shipping to a non-US address.

Yeah, I really love that host. That pic is from dragon lasers. I just saw that part about the pen lasers. That sucks! I guess you can't get it without safety features anymore :/

I wonder how much it would cost for CNI to ship it directly to me compared to the price with Glenn's GB.
I wonder if I can have it as part of his GB but they send just my laser to my address if I pay however much extra for the shipping. It's not a top priority right now anyway.. I don't have the money.

It was $40 to Austria, sent with DHL.

Edit: 671 post --> time for a 671nm DPSS :D

Now I have to decide if I want the shutter or not. I wonder if the shutter is just a piece that screws on the end. I'm considering that dragonlaser beam expander (but isn't compatible with the shutter), but until then I don't want the outside of the lens to get scratched or dirty. I should find out if there's a screw on accessory for this purpose, or if the shutter actually does screw on.

I asked about the shipping and it costs a lot to a ship separate, so sorry. A possible work around would be if someone in Europe wants to do GB and CNI sends the lasers to them, from there, they can send to other non-USA customers. CNI doesn't want to send any non-FDA/CDRH compliant lasers to USA as there c/b trouble for the importer and CNI. Also, CNI doesn't want to offer the "Endeavor' I think there is a non-circumvent agreement w/ Nova.
Mikeeey, if I were you, I would consider a Mellis Griot Beam Expander and a PGL III, and the adapter c/b made by Flaminpyro, that's my thinking... -Glenn

Does a Mellis Griot Beam Expander screw on to the end of the PGL? or does ot tighten on?

How does it compare to a DL beam expander, being that theirs is actually made for the PGL-III?

So how would i get a clicky-only PGL-III? it sounds like my only option is if i have my laser mailed to someone out of the country (Canada for example) and have that person mail it to me?

The Melles Griot beam expander is not designed for the PGLs.
Glenn suggested that you have a custom adapter machined for it by a member here. The DL beam expander will not fit on the PGL-M with the safety features, so a custom machined adapter will be necessary if you order that product.

Glenn stated in his post that you can order un-certified laser products if you have it shipped directly to you from CNI. The shipping cost will be expensive if you do it this way.

If it is too much of a hassle, it is time to consider another option.

True, also, I believe Flaminpyro can make an adapter for most any laser and beam expander as long as the two are measured carefully or sent to him. AMB! -Glenn

ah gotcha.

about how expensive would it be? DJNY mentioned that it was $40 to Australia, so I wonder how much it is to the US.
I also wonder what the odds are of the customs taking my laser, I mean dealextreme and those companies would tend to disguise it and call it a "gift" or "flashlight". I'm assuming CNI doesn't do this, and it says laser right on it?
Well actually.. that's a question.. lol, what do CNI packages look like?

It will be labeled as laser(s), and it will likely be about $80 shipping. -Glenn
