So besides me , how many other folks are getting a 671 in this GB?

And it's cool, I think, that this new WL happened -- gives me a lot more hope for some of the other wavelengths Glenn talked about..

Glenn, did you ask about any of those? (Did they respond? :p )

I think I missed this one, but I'll be in on the next for the 671. Don't you already have a 671 aryntha?

More colors would be awesome!

I do already have a 671, did a review of it here (see my sig), but I originally wanted it in a PGL-III-C; had to settle for a PGL-III-M.

I think by now, I can probably disclose what CNI originally quoted me for a PGL-III-C-671-150mW: $1350. :wtf:

Obviously I didn't go for that. The PGL-III-M for some reason was significantly less, but still much more than Glenn's prices here.

The moral? Get Glenn to do the deal -- CNI seems to respond better to him... In this case, it was "Subtract $1000."

(I've been trying to get a 523.5nm blue-green PGL-III-C from CNI, so far the prices have been stratospheric...)

I've had a lot of people asking me about my PGL-III-M-671; I don't want to entertain selling it until the PGL-III-C-671 is in hand and working! :) Have had too much bad laser-luck lately.... But as some folks said, that may just be because i'm exposing myself to more lasers :)

What have you had bad luck with? you didn't have to RMA your 473 or anything did you?

Maybe he would sell you his extra...

It's pulsed output though, I don't know why they did that. Heat really shouldn't be an issue with that setup and they apparently can sell them CW, so I'm going for a CW :D

CNI makes me angry sometimes with the insane quotes they give, but they probably don't have the time to deal with laser enthusiasts like us ordering random lasers. That's probably just a way to scare us off. I wish they would just sell modules of some of the more exotic dpss wavelengths they have, I could find something to put it in lol

Came REALLY close to RMAing my 473 because it was acting very oddly when I first got it. But it shaped up after some "break-in", a phenomenon some of us are noticing with 473s. So I dodged that one. It's working great now.

But beyond that, a DOA 612nm HeNe, a dead JDSU GreeNe, a DOA JDSU 1145, and three DOA 2214 ArIon's in a row. Kinda felt like I was on a roll there.

And, Pontiac, yes, it was probably a "Go away" quote.... But it shows that Glenn really does have their ear, and maybe he will be able to coax those exotic wavelengths ouf of them. Finally we have red with the same beam quality as 532...

Ouch! Sorry about that. Do you think it was the break in period, or just the batteries being overcharged?

@Prototype: It's no problem, you're right. :) BTW, Anyone selling any JDSU 2214 Multilines? :) (Still probably gonna go with Dave, even though its not my preferred form factor -- things you get from Dave, they WORK.)

The initial problem I really think was the overcharge. After getting rid of that DX charger, I've not had the "drop to 10mw instantly" problem anymore.

Aside from that, though, it seems to be doing more like 80-90mW now, and early on, it was more like 65-75mW.

So I still think the break-in idea holds true, especially since my AqPro/PGL-III-A displayed the same behavior -- it's a lot more powerful now, on average, than the day I got it.

Other folks besides me have observed this... Not sure what the rationale would be.

i hope Glenn does not place this order too soon otherwise CNI might want to postpone and ship GB9 & GB10 together to reduce cost :tsk:

The price on Dragon Lasers for a 1W 655nm lab unit is only 530$ I don't know about their shipping charges though. Seems kinda odd that it's cheaper there. Maybe CNI doesn't supply them with their lab lasers?
