ApexProxy are you going to be building one or are you just buying one. like offroadfreak i too have a ophir lpm in the works, but have a nice 8x8 tec and heatsink and a jufran88 opamp i could sell you to help you along the way if your building your own. all you would need is a voltmeter, switch, 9v battery.

I was planning on buying a Laserbee II. Does anyone know what the response time on one of those is?

depends on which one you get but i believe the standard laserbee II about 20-30 seconds.

Greetings,,

Made a quick paint drawing:

Purple is OPHIR
Green is Normal Sensor

Jerry also sells his laserbee's with an Ophir head but they are expensive and limited.

Laserbee LPM still a great product though! You get what you pay for and it is perfect for measuring lasers

If anyone is in the market, I have no need for two LPMs... have a Laserbee 2.5W USB I wouldn't mind selling.

For higher powered lasers, 30 seconds. For lowered powered ones, under ~500mW, 20 seconds.

I want it! How much for?

Hmm, $135 shipped? Will come with the original CD. I still have it packed up from when I sent it over to Lazeerer. It's been gently used, but there are a couple of shallow marks on the thermopile, that do not have any effect on accuracy.

I can have it out in the mail for you tomorrow :)

135$ for a 2.5W lpm cant argue with that good offer

I would totally jump on that offer if 2.5W was enough. I'm going to ask Jerry about an Ophir head.

Oh... well crap. There is no way in hell I can afford that right now then. Oh well I guess the stock Laserbee II will do then :D

Now I'm torn with getting the one in the enclosure or the PCB style.

I also thought about filters but I'd rather not mess with that if I could. Though it could potentially save cash, I plan on having the LPM for a very very very long time so I don't mind spending extra(to an extent) to be able to go to higher output.

If all goes well I will have my Laserbee II on order by tomorrow.
