Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Robin,

Put me down as a tentative for the HL515-30mW and HL650-300mW

...and for anyone that is curious, the laserBtB hosts are fantastic. Having purchased the HL and PL units in the last group buy, both are great, and Robin and Kevin were awesome throughout the entire group buy process. The HL-520 has become one of my favorite lasers to tinker around with... just a really great stability and beautiful beam. The diffraction caps for the HL host are a great value-add too.

I picked up the 50mW 520, the 700mW 532, and 500mW 405 in the last GB, so if someone has specific questions about them, feel free to PM me.

+rep for ORF for stepping up for another round!

I'm def in. At the moment I'm a kid in a candy shop with choosing though so please give a little patience as I choose (should be done by tomorrow :)) now livinloud I'm in with tmack for going through you if it's cheaper. Cheers

Sure let me know when you work something out! :)

I will put you down now :) thanks for the compliments! Inagree that both hosts are awesome. But if you want more stability with a higher power i would recommend getting a PL host.

Nice thing that you offering to meter and receive lasers going to germany

I think I'll take a HL532-300mW and a Pen532- 100mW not 100% sure now.

I've got a little question.
My comparing eye noticed that the 532nm DPSS lasers HL and PL are more expensive than in the gb's before. Not much but I 've been wondering.

What's the reason for that?

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Comparing the Pen 532nm 100mw vs. 150mw. Do those both use the same IR diode?

Edit: and while I'm asking questions, comparing the 450nm pens, are they run at different currents to get the 60mw vs 80mw version or are these just different diode efficiencies?

Edit2: I emailed Kevin directly, will report back.

Alright so debating on the 515nm vs 520nm. Does anyone have both of them and have a preference, pros/cons of each?

I don't know actually :p It only differs a few dollars on the HL532 series. Maybe yuan/dollar exchange rates? The PL532-500 is more expensive this time while the other are still the same. I guess to encourage getting a higher powered one.

If you are sure what you want to get let me know i wil update the order list

No the dpss lasers use different IR diodes. For the 450nm pens they use different currents.

Awesome  I will add you to the list now :) We need more orders for this to take place

Biggest difference is the power. And every 515 520 diode has a different actual wavelentgh (for example 517nm etc.)

Let me know when you want me to add you to the list :san:

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

I'll take
HL515- 30mW $69
HL460- 100mW OSRAM (single mode) pointer $63
If I can add non GB items I would like a few (6) 635nm 10mW diodes. $1.88 each

Also, if it is possible could I substitute this GB's gifts (a pointer mount(or a handheld mount)) with the gifts in the last GB?(a flash red pointer 635nm-20mW)?

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Cheeck, Brucemir, KapHn8d, Bloom and/or Tmack......Are you all interested in doing a group shipping? I know its not likely to get all of us in on it but it could possibly save us on shipping. Would need to see who is interested prior to getting price estimates, might work out, might not depending on prices to ship over 7kg to the states.

ORF, i think you missed Tmack's order on page one

Id be in for: 1x HL520- 50mW website price $83.21 Offroads GB price $73

You mind checking with Kevin to see if its possible to get either an extra remote plug OR tail cap without remote pin for my HL532-300? The remote pin is not making great connection so i need to play with it sometimes to get it to lase. either a new pin or new tailcap without the need of the pin would fix this. Let me know what he says

EDIT: If we can get the gifts from the last GB I might just add a 405nm to my order :D

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Hey Livinloud,
If it doesn't screw up Offroads and save us some money, I would be good. But to have them sent to one US location, and them I am assuming USPS Priority to each individual, plus someone doing the extra mailing would we actually save enough to make it worthwhile?
My shipping now is 33 dollars (it may be more for me if Kevin will sell me a PL empty case) and I am fine with that as once shipped, it will take a week to receive my order

Yeah I'm curios how much we'd be saving, and would it just go to priority shipping like Bruce was saying.

But hey if it works out I'm all for it.

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Hey guys!

@ mattronium. Got you covered! Unfortunately gofst from last gb are not available this round. If people like the previous gifts better i will discuss the possibilities of that with kevin.

@ livinloud. Thanks for the heads up! I believe i have everything covered now :) the extra tailcap is no problem. about the group shipping. If it works for you guys i am cool with it. However kevin will ship too big orders in parts for the customs risks damage etc.

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Hey Livinloud,
Offroads brings up a good point and bad possibility if we bulk ship to the USA- what will customs do if the intercept a big laser order. If Kevin ships our lasers in parts, that is no good for me. As pointed out by CNI to Styro in the now aborted (on hold at least) GB from CNI for 589's , CNI are concerned about customs. Even though in this GB we are covered in that situation, I think I would just rather my order just ship to me.

if it works out to be cost effective i'd be in.

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Ive been doing rough figures in my head/calculator and if i shipped them out to you all priority flat rate then itd only be saying us $5-10. Might just be worth the extra few bucks to have everything shipped directly to us from Kevin. Its starting to look like the only benefit would be for members who dont have a LPM and want their lasers metered prior to receiving but since you all got that covered I think its best to ship separate for us

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Good thought though.

What do you guys think about the PL650 1000mw

What diode are they using to get that kind of expected life? I know the customs running at that power are very overdriven and in no way expected to live that long.
