Mine arrived yesterday, I just tested them out and it looks like everything works perfectly. I really like the color of the HL515. Thanks for doing this GB ORF.

My laser won't be arriving today after all. I had to contact DHL about a problem with my address. Even tho the address they had was correct, so looks like it'll be here tomorrow.

My laser arrived today, (just woke up from 3 hours of sleep, so excuse me) and I have more complaints than I thought I would...

1. The effects cap appears to be damaged, as I can't screw it on to the existing cap.

2. The beam is visible in somewhat light areas.

3. I can't light a match, or put even a mark on paper. It DOES sting my skin after a few seconds.

4. The name on the laser shows "Xxcodydarnellxx". Not only is it not my actual name on the laser as I'd requested, but it makes my OCD crazy with it not even being my correctly capitalized username. One capital "X", and no caps in the actual name. *Shudders*

So, I guess my complaints really are an effects cap I can't use unless I hold it to the end of the laser, and I'm concerned this laser may be very underspec, if I can't light a match with it. The name thing I can get over.

Edit: When I say "slightly light" areas, I really mean "slightly"...

Edit2: Exhausted. Back to bed I go. I'll answer all responses when I get back.

Have you tried focusing it? Mine is crazy bright

Is this with the HL-532 300mw?

That is very unlikely.

No, I've yet to figure out how to focus it. The only form of "adjustable" on the cap is the shutter. I can unscrew it, but it makes no difference in the beam. So I assume I missed some kind of focusing feature. So, right now, I'd say it's "focused to infinity" atm. However, that would make sense in visibility if it were focused in another way. Thicker beam = brighter beam.

There are 2 knobs, top is shutter, bottom is focus.:beer:

The bottom knob is what was "unscrewing it", like I was saying. Looking very closely, I can see now that unscrewing it made the beam a little thinner. Although I still can't light a match.

Something is definitely wrong. You should be able to light a match pretty quickly focused and I think the beam when focused to infinity should still be able to light it...

HL 300mW pictures in a moderately light room, focused for visibility, with fresh Efest rechargeable cells.

DOT. Note, the dot is a lot smaller, and it looks like there are two because it's reflecting. Just how the camera is picking it up.

It is a white-head match. Would that be the difference in it igniting?

Lol white head match COULD be he problem, that look pretty bright. Sharpie time.

And you may not be getting the focal point. But it shouldn't matter much with a match and 300mw. The white is definitely slowing you down too.
