With mine only the sticker was blocking. You don't want to file or bore in the aperature as the dust from it can block even more light. Also there is a chance you hit the lens and screw up big time. Would be happy with it as is :) If you do want to risk your laser for that 100mW extra be very very very carefull and file upsidedown so that the dust falls down on the floor and not on the lens which you want to cover anyway.

greetings,

Robin
Thanks.
Is it possible to take the from part off or is it glued. I was thinking if it would come out I could just drill it out with a drill press or on my lathe.

Sounds like you've got some sweet equipment available. Whish i had that aswell :) anyway blord would know for sure but i believe the entire thing is glued together.

I can verify everything is glued to not be disasembled. Had already talked to Blord about this as I had a faulty HL450 and tried.

The threads in the HL host are all glued. I had my HL laser come in parts and assembly it myself without permanent glue.

Purchased an lp808 from a member here and wanted to state publicly that I asked wbp if I could buy one of his extra locking tail caps that he received as the 808 didn't have one and he just mailed me one free of charge:) So a big :thanks: for another great member!
Also, the mw of the 4 lp units with a single 10440 is listed in my sig. All of them have a dramatic increase. I do this at my own risk and take full responsibility with no claim for warranty if anything happens ;)

I really like the LP450 unit that I got as part of GB#2. I definitely want a 635nm LP, maybe even a 532. If these are available in a future GB, I'd be interested. Or maybe I will just order one (a 635nm) from laserbtb since the price isn't bad. Hmm.

The LP450 seems to be quite resilient versus excessive runtimes and temperature excursions, even running on a 10440. Mine didn't come with a locking tail cap (it's in the mail though:)) and so the laser has gotten turned on and left on by accident a few times. Other than the host becoming very, very warm, there seem to have been no bad effects. I'm looking forward to receiving the locking tailcap, but at this point (in terms of damage) I'm more worried about my pockets than the laser. :)

I imagine they will have a 520nm LP for sale at some point.

How do the 10440's hold up in the 532nm LP? I have a 200mW HL (1x16340) and it draws more than 1A at the tailcap, I can't imagine 10440's being too happy with such high current.

I use the 10440 for testing usually and then regular lithiums in pens like this. Never tested the current draw or ran any of the lps for more than 20 seconds so I really don't have the answer to this. I've found that most units that take 2 AAA can run off a single 10440 although this certainly doesn't always up the mw especially in cheap $5 pens. In general, the more the unit cost, the more impact the extra voltage has from what I've seen. In fact, some units don't like it at all.
Again, I only say this with full disclosure as you are risking your unit and if it's not stated by the manufacturer/seller to run at that voltage then you forfeit your warranty if something goes wrong. Trust me though, I'm not the only one who has done or is doing the 10440 thing:)

I'm not interested in more mW, really. I just don't want to keep shelling out for primaries ;)

I thought my LP was dead for sure, after I realized it had been on for a while. The host was quite warm. It had to have been running at least 20 minutes, probably longer, because it drained the battery to its protection PCB cutoff. But no, the laser survived, apparently intact, and for that I'm happy :) The 10440 involved was also fine; the protection PCB worked.

I definitely plan on getting the 635nm LP at some point.

Shut in the case with button up? You wouldn't be the first to do that:)

Haven't done that yet, but it has happened when I carry the laser in a pocket. Sometimes the button gets pushed and I don't notice until later.

Don´t know if this was asked before, but what is the GB price on the HL 30mW 515nm?
HL 520nm diode 30mW 50mW

Is Kevin able to test the exact wavelength of the laser?

Thanks

The 30mW version was not available when i did the GB. So i would have to check. I will have to check it anyway since in two days my small stock arrives :) and the 30mW 520 is one of them

Also i dont know if kevin can check wavelengths,
I dont think so.

Did you order any of the pen lasers? 635nm maybe? ;)

Depending on the price, I would be interested in this :)

i have this:

1x PL808-3W SOLD (PENDING)
2x PL650-1W
2x LP532- 150mW
2x HL532- 200mW
1x HL515- 30mW
1x PL532- 600mW

All lasers will be metered before shipping. They are a bit more expensive then normal GB price because i have to add shipping from kevin to me. And then from me to the customer. Also i have to repackage everything. For the HL520 the discount would be 10-20% of the website Retail price. But that is without the extra shipping of which kevin did not inform me the cost yet. I could take the GB shipping price but i want confirmation before i say any price.

greetings,

Hey, my LP locking cap just arrived. :) Testing it out, and it works.

Only came with one key though... guess I'd better not lose it. I'm sure I could find or make a key to fit it, should it come to that.

Thanks again for taking care of this, Offroad :)
