Still no sign of my locking tail caps. Encouraging to hear that some are actually getting them, I had my doubts.

Anybody ship lasers back by Fedex yet? I'm still waiting for a report from someone before I try. Also, Offroad, would you PM me the return name and address?

I just want to reiterate that my last statement was directed completely at Sky. My friend Offroad did a great job and spent a ridiculous amount of time on this GB. How many of us would even consider heading another GB after everything that went on. I know that if he does host another one in the future, he will be adamant about things being handled properly and I may even get in on it (but in a much more limited way).
I'm not "bitter" about it even though it may sound that way. The actual worst thing for me was Offroad having to spend so much time and energy dealing with all of the issues that kept coming up. When it got to the point of just wanting my locking LP tail caps I pretty much tuned out anything to do with Sky and moved on.
Being real about how things played out. Just glad to have closure.
Couldn't tell someone to buy from them without at least referring them to potential issues. Whether they read thru the thread from the point where units were shipped is up to them.

I wont be returning mine, I just have a bad feeling about it. Ill just live with 200mW I guess.

Not trying to spend another 100+ dollars to ship a laser back and have them say its on spec because it hits 300mW for a split second or who knows if they even test it at all, just say its on spec, and they either keep the laser and resell it, or collect my money for them to send it back and make double. Off an underspec laser.

I always have these problems with DPSS greens. Cant wait for the green diodes so I can finally have a stable on spec green laser. They are almost down to what I consider affordable for a diode!

Hey pman i don't totally agree with your statements. Your one of the people that really bothered himself to every aspect that went wrong.

I agree that their site was faultive but that had nothing to do with this this GB. As long as you get a good working on spec laser. Now this GB was fairly big the last one was fairly small we had a goal to ship out everything before chinese new year. Which was a mistake. It led to inproper QC as we found out when people received their lasers. Of the 30+ orders there were 5/6 people that had a complaint. One of them had a partial refund and the other could send their laser back. Which is kind of a hassle i agree.

Kevin mailed me if thee lasers are allready shipped back. He wants to end this too. And let's be honest your the type of guy that really wants to have things finished fast and good. In a gb this cannot allways be the case. I am sure most people that are not responding right now had fairly good experience.

@eradicator. I don't think you should be scared to send it back. He will test full duty cycle and i will personally get you a new laser if kevin disagree's. Or don't you want to go through the hassle?

Yep not really worth the hassle, and I could never accept you replacing it personally, none of this is your fault and you did an excellent job. I do appreciate the gesture though.

I will just count it as a not so stable green , for the price that it was, i really didn't lose out much, it does hit 200mW regularly, I'm sure it does bounce to 300 every once in a while.

Thanks offroad, and honestly I still may participate in your next GB with sky, I will just be steering clear of their DPSS most likely. Gonna have to start getting high end with those, I just do not like unstable lasers.

Yeah I ordered just over $500 worth of lasers with little to no problems, just got 2 free pen lasers because they sent the wrong one the first time.

Well, I'm going off of what I remembered from issues people complained about and some had multiple issues. There are 11 people listed (not including Brucemir) who wanted their locking tailcaps that were supposed to come with the LPs. Doesn't matter if some ended up not caring whether theirs came with them or not when they were supposed to Their site showed them and made a big deal of them. Their site DOES matter. What else were we supposed to go off of?
Agreements were made before the orders went in concerning anything that was an added bonus or gift. Because people received these things doesn't excuse other issues.

I'm just stating my position. I held off for a long time before saying anything about my particular problem and I stated everything as fair and factual as possible.

I would still like a locking tailcap for my LP. It won't ruin my day if I don't get one, but it would be nice to have one. Please let me know if I need to contact Kevin, etc.

Nobody said the pen lasers came with locking caps. It was just poor communication. Sending those tailcaps now if nice from kevin. The website is indeed poor never was it stated that it comes with alle the stuff that is on the website. However now that is clear that people want the exact same stuff as on the website it is being worked on. I understand it is dissapointing but is just shows the fact everything needs to be discussed with chinese firms.

I am not saying that an faultive item is excusable. But it can happen.. I thought sky was able to proces these orders so fast. Turns out not. That is why i will not allow improper qc again..

Well, then I certainly don't understand how anyone is supposed to interpret their site any other way. They show them with them and make a big deal about it and I saw nowhere that it was an option such as getting one in white is. To my knowledge unless they changed something on their site this wasn't a special request item. Why would we think they didn't come with them? I don't get it.

Well i didn't said you could not refer to items on their site. It was just not discussed which tailcaps came with the pen hosts.. I never knew they had a non lock tailcaps so i never asked if they came with different caps.

Exactly There's nothing to discuss when there are no options shown for different tail caps. There's no reason to ask.
Site still shows every LP with it. No reason to expect anything else. Anyone buying from their site would expect to get what is shown in the picture UNLESS they specifically asked them if they had an optional non-keyed tail cap. There's no way I would have expected you to ask about them at all

The absolute truth and worst thing for me with all of this is you being in the middle of it and having to spend so much time dealing with some of our frustrations. I love that you organized it and got so many great deals but it bothered me terribly that I couldn't just deal with my own issues with the units rather than going thru you. Since we've been discussing the tail-caps I thought I would throw a few pics in to show the difference between them. Sorry first couple of pics aren't so great but you get the idea.
Will say that at first glance with the locking caps on you might think that that is the output end since most cheap laser pens have a big shiny cap on the front.

Laser will turn on in yellow or green position with batteries in and won't in red position. Yellow position is just to remind yourself that there's no batteries in. Key doesn't have to be kept inserted.
Remember that if you are storing in the case with batteries inserted don't close the box with the button up or the case insulation will touch it and turn the unit on unless you are in the red position

If you are wondering how my outputs are so high, let's just say the units are very sensitive to supply voltage
