Lovin all the pics. Knew you would need a bigger case Blord. I'm really kinda shocked at just how much more substantial the PLs are than the HLs. They kind of make the HLs feel cheap.
Still haven't set my lasers in the cases properly. Finding it hard to commit

Thanks for asking! I'm good, got about a foot of snow, maybe 15" in some spots with drift, but really nothing major.

One thing though... haven't shoveled snow in years (decade +) I'm really out of shape.

People on Long Island, and Connecticut, got hit really hard... I mean 3 feet+ overnight, and way, way higher snow drifts, to the point where just getting out is a problem. Check out the latest gif, in the gif thread I posted... that would be a major problem if you're also out of power. Temperature becomes a real concern.

This is a concern for me as well. It's not uncommon for LPMs to be +/- 5% which means at least for the HL460 (450?) he could have a dead on reading, where I have a slightly underspec reading. (I am getting ~90mW.)

I would much rather pot mod it... but don't want to do so when it means losing warranty.

Obviously since it is kind of a hassle, that he is putting people with defective (or underspec) lasers through, I would expect he would also post LPM videos?

Has he responded at all about prepaid return shipping?

i recently had to make some changes to my cases. the only thing about the pick a square foam is after you do it theres no going back so i got some solid foam as a filler then used the top piece to clean it up and like this way better. now all i need is to find a bunch of the pyramid style foam.

Still haven't received the HL450 -100 that Kevin was going to send from SF while he was at the Photonics West show. I emailed him again today at the email he messaged me from at that time. Don't know if he is still in the States.

Got charger and batteries, will be seeing some pretty light soon! Still waiting for the Laserbee.

Well yes. Only way to be certain to get a new one is to have a clearly underspec laser and since ~90mW is still kinda on spec it is a gamble. Sure it would be nice that he also posted lpm videos. But i can imagine he has no time to do that with all customers. Making one video is something else then making a few videos take a bit more time. Especially since we are hobbyists. I dont know why he wants you guys to make videos as he is going to test themselves anyway. Maybe to speed up the proces so he can prepare new lasers whilst the defective ones are one the way and he has more certainty of defective stuff.

Mailing activity from kevin in the CNY has gone down. I am still collecting all complaints and question from PM and this thread to send him at once. I also kinda wanted to give him a break in his vacation. But i planned to send everything tomorrow so if there are more questions that need to be asked, this is the time

Yeah, that's my problem too awillis. Once I go for it I'm stuck unless I do something like you did. Have a piece of thick armaflex that I could cut instead of messing with the squares. Might try it. My cases already have the convoluted piece between top holder and bottom. Hard to beat the 20-30 $ Harbor Freight ones. Have the 2 PL cases though.

So am I given to understand he values his time a lot more than we value ours? That's a rather lousy stance to take with customers.

I'm sorry, this is not directed at you, but to me it seems like a load of crap.

If he wants LPM videos I understand perfectly. In turn if he chooses to claim that the laser is on spec and stiff people on shipping, sending back the same laser, I would at least expect the same courtesy.

Also it's not something being asked for every laser. Just the ones he wants to have a video of for himself in the first place, that he will then also meter... Sense, this does not make.

Yes. I'll have to go back thru my emails (at work) but I'm pretty certain the lasers were already on the way, and not from SF.:thinking:

I went back through the posts - perhaps he substituted it for the 460 pointer (that I didn't get(?)). I also received two red pointers, I think one is the "bonus", and the other is the one I ordered. So...:thinking:...what do you think?

P.S. Got the batteries charged, and now I am looking at beautiful violet and blue light on the wall! :beer: Can't wait to get the Laserbee to see what their actual output power is!

Mine should be here tomorrow, it left china this morning. Hopefully the 650nm won't have too much of a problem with the aperture being too small like the 520nm...

My DHL shipment still hasn't done a thing. No word from Kevin. No time to post my "story" of why I'm very irritated about this. Glad some of you show tracking.

I've used armaflex before and it works really good. the only thing is its kinda hard to make clean cuts with it but i found a trick, if you use on of those turkey cutters with the two blades that go back and fourth it gives it a nice clean cut. I found trying to just use a sharp knife it doesn't usually give a clean cut and makes kind of a mess because it flacks off on the lasers and stuff.
My laser pens case has a piece of armaflex and LPM case has a piece of it holding the sensor in place, i like it because that stuff is soft, and if you lay things on it, it forms to it pretty nice.

Ah like that well maybe if he meters one on spec he can make a video. we will see how he handles it

EDIT: Sent all questions concerning replacements to kevin @ Pman also your complaint about the missing keyed caps for pen lasers, the missing non keyed HL tail cap and the not shipped order from the website

my DHL package showed on their tracking 2/4 - shipment ready, and no activity until 2/9, then it moved. it looks like I should get it tomorrow or Thurs at the latest
