Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

What is included with the 300mW 532nm? Charger? etc.

Case, charger, two diffraction grating caps (star, circle), two safety plugs. Normally also batteries but this time not because fedex wont ship batteries.

Greetings,,

Is there any way we could get the 520nm in just a module, so we can custom build the laser around it?

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Was looking at the HL's and noticed that some use a single 16340 and some use 2 but the hosts look the same length.
Do they give you a spacer or do you need your own (have 6 of them but would be nice if they came with it if it's needed)? I know they don't come with batteries but why would a spacer be an issue other than it looks like a battery?
Or, is something else going on inside with mounting positions?

I prefer the PL host above the HL for the 520nm diode.
In my experience of building laser the static electricity doesn't kill the diode most of the time. It is the overcurrent or shorting the diode.
Second is the heat and then static. :D

Offroad can you check about two extra circle caps?

Which module? It is a diode in a heatsink and a host. It is no dpss module. So only option for kevin is to sell them as complete lasers.

Yes HL comes in one and two 16340's the difference is in the laser itself. A normal 532nm is a dpss that module is way bigger then a bare diode with driver. (Like 405). Also 532 dpss needs lower voltage because the diode is IR. This makes it possible to have two sorts of setups in the same host. You will never need a spacer!

I asked kevin about it. I will keep you guys up to date.

Yes i ask kevin in my next mail :)

Well I know he can't sell them as just pure diodes, but could he mount them in a module, give it a driver, and sell those so we can build the laser around it?

EDIT:

Essentially, just sell the complete laser without the host? I'd like to customize it, and I figure it would be cheaper to not put it in a host, because I would probably end up cutting it open later anyway.

I wish i had the money for the HL532 300 :p it seems kinda strange that you need a rep power of 10 tho to order it the other way. Its is really hard to get rep on these forums but i understand. Scams and what not.

It's not really a big deal to send as a gift. Offroad wont screw you neither will kevin. Offroad made sure everything was well taken care of in the last group buy and will do the same here.

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

I couldn't see it in the review of the PL650 and someone asked the question but it wasn't answered. How are the beam specs on this unit? Is it like other reds with the wings or whatever you want to call them? Does anyone have an actual shot of the beam hitting a target so I can see the splash or can give me a link to see this unit in action other than straight beam shots?
Thanks

Well if there is a module around it. Of which i have no idea it will still be useless unless you have your own lathe. Small vhance it wil fit right in another host. But in the next mail "next year" i will ask if he can fix something for you :)

Just be nice, help people solve problems do reviews. And you will have 10 rep in no time. 10 rep tells me that you are a ok guy and other gave you credit for some things. Which essentially takes away the risk for me. Also paying as a gift when you don't have 10 rep isn't a big deal. It only takes away the risk for me. You must understand i am dealing with a great ammount of money of which i don't wish to lose a penny to scammers out of my own pocket :)

Thanks for the support

I think that is a really good question! I have actually no idea. You could try PM smeerworst. I am sure he can tell you everything you will need to know. Please post results as i am quite curious too

Also happy new year everybody!

Just notice this thread :gj:

Can I place my order too? I wanted a HL532- 150mW.

:thanks:

I PMéd Pman about the specs of the beam with a video, and added that video to my review aswell :)

Happy New year all

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Much thanks to Smeerworst.
The explanation with the video from him is
In this video you see a 500mW Mit$u diode doing 1W, and the PL 650.

right is pl 650 1W, left is 635 1W when looking at the beam.

Beam hitting target is PL 650 left and 635 right.

:thanks::thanks:
