Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

My bad! Sorry for the confusion everyone.... I missed this post from FC.

Even if I'm correct, I am still curious about the unlikely hypothetical "exactly 25 unit" scenario and where that falls. I don't know that it got cleared up specifically.

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

The $8.45 price is for residential delivery anywhere in the US. I will need a full list of email addresses once this gets here. Then I will email each person a tracking number.

International shipping still needs pricing. UPS is way to expensive to use in this way. USPS without tracking may be the only way to knock this off and keep the price low.

Also I think the magic number is 26 for the discount and free shipping. I am at a commercial address so shipping to me is cheap anyway.

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

Exactly 25 units is 20% discount plus free shipping to whomever is the organizer. No matter what the actual number of units we will ship free to the organizer. The best percentage discount is 26+. The actual order will not be via the website so we can apply all the discounts and do the free shipping. We will either send out a PayPay request, or process a credit card or work out some other form of payment.

Looks like $12.78 to Sweden. Thats not too bad.

Anyone else need a quote?

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

Pricing (based on what we know so far):

If we get 26 or more orders,

AL3: 74.80 – 22.5% = 57.97
ARG: 78.20 – 22.5% = 60.61
DI4: 115.60 – 22.5% = 89.59
KRY: 98.60 – 22.5% = 76.42
KTI: 163.20 – 22.5% = 126.48
ML7: 149.60 – 22.5% = 115.94
YLW: 98.60 – 22.5% = 76.42

Add your cost for shipping (8.45 US and 12.78 to Sweden quoted so far) (and I know someone mentioned a nominal gratuity for the organizers handling the shipping and handling the money), and there you have it!

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

I didn't notice the AL3's the first time around, what do you guys recommend (compared to the ARG)?

AL3 is OD3+ for 405/445nm, which is plenty good enough, knocks 1W down to 1mW, but VLT is only 19%, vs. OD7+ for 405/445nm (knocks 1W down to 0.0001mW?!) which seems way overkill, probably won't be able to see low/medium power green lasers, but VLT is 48%.

Any comments from current owners of either pair?

If extelon does not do the shipping, I'd recommend designedfor1. He shows, to me anyway, a growing love for the hobby, and doesnt seem shady. Not that the others seem shady, its just you have not been on long enough to get to know you. Designedfor1 seems an open and honest person.

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

I've sent my response extelon. I'm still on board for a YLW.

ducky: Yes, you're right that it will provide insufficient coverage for red. However, the ML7 does provide very adequate protection against green and IR, and from what people have tested, 405nm as well. It's hard to cover red sufficiently though, as so many wavelengths are already covered. Maybe the DI4 would be better for that.

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

you can put me down for the ARG 38. i'll pay you w/e the end result price is for these(after discount). do i have to pay for shipping since i live in hawaii?

i got a question on safety just to be sure, though this may not be the place for it. i have certified glasses already (just want another good pair). if i shine the laser through it and no visible light appears on the other end after it passes through the glasses, does that mean it's 100% safe? this doesn't include IR and i'm not talking about it burning a hole through the glasses either XD the glasses do fluoresce a yellowish orangish color when hit with a green laser. my glasses seems to block blu ray and green 100%, no dot appears at all on the other side. thanks for anyone's time.

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

A question has come up concerning payment and shipping. Since there will be separate people performing each of these tasks, how will the payments work? I imagine we would just pay once and the person taking care of receiving the funds would send a lump sum to the person responsible for shipping. What do you guys think?

Yeah, that is how it would generally be done. The addresses would need to be known to calculate the shipping costs from shipper in order to get the lump sum.

Edit:

1.) I wouldn't mind handling this whole thing, but I know I'm pretty new to signing up, but I have bought many laser related things from people on here to vouch for me (and know my address). I figured I would just throw that out there. I would only charge an extra dollar for gas, time, and supplies (paper, printer ink, bubble wrap etc.)

------a.) You could even call me if it would make you feel better about me handling this.

2.) Ok so to keep the prices down as much as possible, I think we need to be sending the money to the money person via personal gift on paypal. (To avoid fees)

3.) As for the shipping it would be nice to know if the glasses could fit into a USPS flat rate envelope or box. Bubble paper / air bags and newspaper combo would be great padding. International would get a box, since overseas can get rough quickly.
