Postage will be actual cost.

for 5 or 10 you're probably looking at around $3-4

Re: GB: Copper modules - 5.6 & 9mm - $2

Hey there Matt

I'll take 10 X 5.6mm and 10 X 9mm. I can thread the backs myself. I actually use the back threads in my builds to attach the modules to my copper heatsinks. Let me know when and how much to send for payment. You already have my address from the order I placed the other day.

Chinese new year, thank goodness my latest package left china on 1/31.

Bob

I'm actually debating having some threaded.
I found a use for it. I'm going to make small 10440 hosts that you just mount the driver directly on the diode and screw the module into the barrel.

That's how I do my AAA builds. I make the threads on the heatsink slightly undersize so the module screws in very tightly, then solder on the inside prior to pressing the diode in. The driver mounts on the diode and either has a spring for - or a brass contact for + depending on driver and case polarity.

Please let me know about the threaded option, I would prefer that for sure to save me machining time. I'm not a big fan of the module in hole with set screw(s) method that seems to be popular. Thermal efficiency suffers most of the time with that.

Bob

PS: Forgot to mention, I pot the driver to the module at the diode end with Loctite Stik'n Seal to take the stress applied by the battery off of the diode leads.

I think I want some of these, likely five (5) of each.

But I need some hand-holding, first. I need help better understanding how I am to use these.

Using this image from DTR's website:

I get these are replacing the copper part shown in the image. And I see when omitting the silver housing on the right, you don't need any back threads on the copper heat sink. But, when reviewing BLord's image in post #5, I don't see in inner threads, either. Is this how the news ones are shipped? If so, to what is the lens threaded? Don't we need the inner threads to attach a lens housing?

Yes, you're replacing the copper part and you don't get any of the other parts, back, spring, lens, lens nut.

They do have inner threads, it's just hard to see in Blords picture.

Thanks ARG, for the clarification.

I am in for five (5) each:
5 x 5.6mm
5 x 9.0mm

Of course these modules have inner thread. All modules do. :D
The modules in this GB don't have an outer thread for the back housing.
It is the most right module.

I know, right? I was like duh... well that doesn't seem right. I'll never need to ask this question again. though. :)

Re: GB: Copper modules - 5.6 & 9mm - $2

I think I'm going to try to start building a few to see how it works so this will be my first part I will buy and then I got a search for everything else. Also going to look in to a 3.2 what laserbee II Deluxe LPM!

I'm sorry I won't be able to be in this GB I need to learn more in building and studying before I jump in and drown, lol. I respect everybody and everything on LPF and sorry for backing out. I hope you understand

Thanks, Ron

Re: GB: Copper modules - 5.6 & 9mm - $2

I won't be doing 3.8mm modules this run.
Only 5.6mm & 9mm.
Starting is going to be $2ea. + actual shipping cost.
...
Prices are based on.....

I think you may have missed that in the OP
