So if we have to use a Set Screw that could be a problem for us with out Taps and the screws them selfs, and i for one dont trust my self to drill a stright hole lmao any ideas?

Cheers
Josh

The heatsinks come drilled with a set screw already, you wouldn't have to make your own.

He is referring to using a set screw through the outside of the head to hold the heat sink in place

A set-screw through the host-head and into the heatsink would work, but it would be my last resort. If this is what we have to do, I could do it for everyone.

Lets find out what Mark can do about getting us the classics, in the meantime, the host is on it's way to me, so I can see what we are dealing with. Be patient, even though Dave is only a couple of states away, the post is really slow this time of year.

I think maybe we need to make sure Mark gets a DJR. I will set aside one of the very last "DJR full-Body heatsinks" for this purpose.

Ah it's nice to see that Mark cares enough to post in this thread, hopefully with a bit of luck he will be able to get hold of the DJR :)

Then I can use my full body purple heatsink which has been waiting for around a year for a host in my draw :D

And also thanks Dark_horse for taking the time to help us solve this problem :)

I love the dedication toward this GB.

Thanks to everyone who would take time out of their day to help out.

Hopefully Mark will find the original dorcys and we could keep the original heatsinks.

ill have to actually purchase the heatsinks from this GB if Mark finds the original dorcys.

I searched the Dorcy world and came up with 11 of the old style (the original). 27 of the new ones and that is it. I notified Tom to see what he wants to do.

I have no problem giving someone else a "classic", I am fine with one of the newer designs. I may just use it for a flashlight, lol.

This might be a silly idea; but if the problem is the different head, would it be possible that the factory might have some extra original ones in a parts bin, or storage?

If so, mabye one (Mark?) could request them, to make up for the shortage of original style. It might be a shot in the dark.

This is what's going to happen, fortunately, Shipping from Dorcy to Dave, will be Free. but then again, shipping costs from Dave to the people that want the original will cost extra, (even though you've already paid) I know.. but.. this is how it must happen.

If everyone is happy to keep the old dorcy, that would work best.. I will have a chat to some people and see what everyone wants to do, because I'm not going to choose people to give these too, that would be just wrong, I'm just trying to make things right, just like Mark is, thank you Mark.

So everyone keep checking this thread for updates from me.

Hehe matt,

That's what I'm still figuring out. It won't be fair to others if only some people get the normal hosts.

That's why I'm going to speak to Barry, and see if he is able to get the ones Dorcy sent us working, if we can, we can sort something out. But I'm sorry, it won't be sent to anyone before Christmas.

Give me some time ;) I'm trying.

~Tom
