Re: Feeler: 4.5W 638nm C-mount Information/Giveaway

If you could get the datasheet it would be interesting to see the divergence and beam quality. I wonder if any of the projector people would be interested?

I don't think there is a datasheet for them. There is some data, but no datasheet, per se.

It is looking more and more like we will be going the traditional GB route here if we can get a few more
buyers. If you are serious about it, send me a PM saying how many you want and I will put you on the
list.

Re: Feeler: 4.5W 638nm C-mount Information/Giveaway

Heck i would buy two, just don't know what to do with them ^^..

5 amps woohaa say no more... put it in a inferno host with the lens inside and be done...

I like big lines as much as i like them in projectors.

My avarter say's all..

But i like small lines aswell ;)

This is the best time for laser enthousiasts!
So much Candy... so much joy.... grrrrrrrrrrr..

I would buy one for testing.... purpose on my own, but not me doing the testing

Look at the pritty photons.... scattered.

Re: Feeler: 4.5W 638nm C-mount Information/Giveaway

I wish I could but I cannot commit to one of these when I have committed to getting a 3.5W diode. How long do you guys think these will be around?

I would argue it is the worst time. Normally I don't have to make decisions. Now I have overloaded myself on diodes because each one is unique or I needed it at the time. I need 10 more hosts lol.

I don't think there is a datasheet for them. There is some data, but no datasheet, per se. According to
the supplier, the typical rated current is 5A and the voltage drop is in the 2.5V range typical of red diodes.
Divergence is claimed to be 35° and 10°.

It is looking more and more like we will be going the traditional GB route here if we can get a few more
buyers. If you are serious about it, send me a PM saying how many you want and I will put you on the

Alright, well let me know if the thread is interested in my offer. I would be willing to offer a MODC (see here) to each participant, in exchange for a diode for me (though it of course depends a bit on how many participants there are).

If there's no interest, no worries.

I could offer you the funds for two of these in exchange of the 405 ;)

If there is enough interest to substantially reduce the price I would definitely be in for one. Let me know what you come up with.

I really like this MODC idea, rhd.

So far no one has PM'd asking to be put on the list for a diode (or two).

What would the time tables be? That will be the make or break for me.

I've never bought from this supplier before, but figure 2 weeks from sending payment, maybe 3 worst case.

Add me to the list either way. I'm in for one.

Re: OPEN: 4.5W 638nm C-mount Diode Group Buy

If @rhd can set us up with a module and driver solution, I'd be very tempted to jump in for one.

It sounds like theres a decent amount of interest so the prices could hopefully come down substantially.

I can't commit fully yet, but I will stay tuned.

You're on the list, rhd. The OP has been updated!

Don't worry, Jstrawn, rhd will be hooking you up.

Modules only.

I've been reading up on the DTR c mounts, and it sounds like they were sensitive. I think I'd prefer not to be responsible for a GB's worth of sensitive diode driving ;)

But I'm down for the MODCs, which is half the battle!
