That may not be a problem when there's huge demand and plentiful cheap supply; but as is apparent so far in this case, if neither meets minimum order because of a split, the purpose of Group Buy is defeated.
imnsho a lot of the "group buy" action from Jake and others (not to single you out, Jake) is actually "For Sale with PrePurchase" and should be "over there".

After Christmas, I could be up for these things, but not quite yet, money is tight. And after the last round of "These are 6x" where the first people to order all got 4x, some others can be the early adopters this time around.

I just explained this in Amk's GB thread, but i know for a fact, that the suppliers never once lied about what it is they are selling. When they offered 4x's they offered them as 4x's. NOT 6x's. When they offered the Sanyo sled, they said "we don't know what it is", even after i asked three times.
Because of that, i felt confident enough to buy 6x's from the supplier directly for testing. In just a few days, i will be able to confirm these are real.

IMO, he was only trying to be pro active. Yet a little hasty, he was prepared for the best. Can't blame him, just a guy trying to help. And IgorT's posts make that thread great. Jake 21, you should know that the hottest tech for the lowest dollar is gonna be hot here. No feeler required.

The suppliers never did. I talked to all of them, and none of them said it. At least not to me. Altho if they would be lying to one person, they would lie to everyone, in order to sell. But in my experience, they never once claimed to have something, they didn't. They have claimed not to have something they did tho. But that's a whole other story.
In any case, i will have these sleds very soon, post testing reports, comparisons to my old 6x, and then you will all know what you're getting for sure. No more guesswork, and overly excited fantasy..
Altho i wouldn't have bought them myself, if i wasn't sure already. I don't know who made those things up (4x = 6x / Sanyo sled = 12x), but i know it wasn't the suppliers. I talked to them long enough to trust them. At least about WHAT they are selling.
They are hard negotiators, they will lie about stock to drive the price high and make you buy more, faster (possibly with something you don't want on top), but they don't lie about WHAT they are selling.
