I would say the calculator tends to overestimate the brightness of greens in general. However, that doesn't matter when you are comparing 2 greens, rather than a green and some other color.

I would just get a 1.7W 532nm and compare the two but I am not about to buy a laser from that website considering they have 100 Watts for sale.. Something is fishey about the aliexpress.

Yoshi, you know, this is becoming frustrating.
Aliexpress is not a laser company. It is like eBay. There are good eBay sellers and bad eBay sellers, just as there are good Aliexpress sellers and bad Aliexpress sellers. XPL is one of the good ones. They have proven it by sending me good, functioning lasers that are significantly overspec. XPL has nothing to do with the companies selling 100 watt lasers.

Aliexpress is just like ebay. There are multiple sellers, and you have to decide their worth individually. If you can't trust XPL, check out:
PL-E Pro 532nm Green Lasers

Otherwise, there aren't too many sources for high power DPSS portables.

Why you getting frusterated.... Cause I don't agree with you? It's my opinion.. If you don't agree that's fine.. But there is no reason to get mad... I choose not to buy from them at this point because all I have heard was talk... I posted a video of my 520nm... Why can't you just show me a video of yours... If it is as bright as you say let's see it... I'm not just gonna take your word on it when I have no idea who you are... Lets see this beast of a 532nm Not pointing at a black lpm.

Buying these does require a small leap of faith seeing as nobody owns one yet. Only the Chinese manufacturer has access to them, and any video he makes really won't give too much insight into the in-person brightness.

He could slightly haze a room and adjust the camera to make 50mW seem way brighter than yours. He could also make a video in bright conditions with clear air and have a very unimpressive beam.

I don't have a 1.5W 532nm. What I have, from XPL, is a 500mW 532nm. You can find the link to the video review thereof in my signature. The video of the 1.5W 532nm is the one that DongXi Peng sent me. Again, if you insist, I can request a full video of it from Peng.

That's probably not why he's frustrated, but rather because this information that you're asking about has already been posted throughout this thread and others, and even in the OP.

You are being a bit stubborn, and assuming you know things that just plainly aren't true, for example as Sta, Diachi and I tried to explain the output relevance of DPSS and it's comparison to a diode etc. is no different just because it's method of light production is not purely a diode.

No one has a beam shot of this laser yet everyone says it's the brightest... Once again I'll believe it when I see it.. You guys seem to be all defending a laser that none of you actually has.

Once again, Yoshi, a video won't really prove anything. The conditions of the room and the nature of the camera will mean a lot more than the actual brightness of the laser. Also, I'd rather not risk sacrificing favors with Peng just for a video of something we already know. You can ask him yourself if you'd like, there is a 'contact us' link on the aliexpress page.

I guess you are right.. It's hard to compare the brightness of lasers.. I'll pass on the 532nm... But if any of you ever get one I would be curious to see... But I'm not about to shell out that kind of money for a dpss just yet.. I'd need to see more.. I'm more focused on the 10 Watt I'm getting here shortly....I am excited to see what this nubm08E is like.. I bet it's blinding. I'll post videos when it arrives.

the power video says it all. The lasers seemingly are ir filtered, so the meter video proves it is 1.5 watt. That being said, you can comfortably say it is much brighter than a 1 watt 520. End of story, the proof is in the power output. And about aliexpress, as members have said it is like ebay. You have to poke through all the junk until you find a seller that is trustworthy. So far, this company appears to be just that. Only time will tell for sure though.

My assassin laser I got way back when is a 532nm ... It is no brighter then a 10mw yet it can pop balloons and light matches... Most of the power is completely invisible..

Correct. This is a textbook example of failing to include an IR filter. Fortunately, I have both contacted Peng and looked inside my own XPL laser, on both occasions corroborating that there is indeed an IR filter contained inside.
