Thanks for the update DDL, I'm one of the lazy bastards thats waiting for one in a module, as i've learned my ability to solder wires to the leads on a LD sucks horribly. This one is a gift and I wanted it done right, it's worth the wait to me.

@ DDL, I am very happy with how the GB went....2 more blues have been born in the UK today :).

Out of interest, you know that the sleds are packed in a pink bubblewrap bag in the white box? I had an oddity, it was packed in a blue plastic bag, there was also a loose screw knocking about in the bottom of the box. This was the LD with the broken window that I posted about elsewhere, it makes me wonder if they test these things and pack failed ones differently??? Has anyone else had an odd one out like this?

The one I got from Dr Lava was packed in a blue plastic bag. but there was no screw loose. I sort of assumed that the pink bubblewrap was put in by DDL to increase protection. If I am not wrong these things arrive in trays in the blue plastic wrap? Or maybe the supplier is different/changed. Both have the same psx sticker though.

Just found this quote from DDL in the other blue ray thread,

So it seems mine wasn't a 1 off, window wise... the good news is that all is not lost if it is broken. :)

Ok, I had a few broken windows, but I couldn't tell anything about them being broken or otherwise before shipping them out. :-[

I do personally check each and every single one before I box it up and send it out. But I cannot/don't have the time/resources to check each diode individually.

As about the bags, yes... the old ones came in pink bubble wraps, the new ones all came in the blue anti-static bag. I shipped them as they came. ::)

Of course you can't DDL, I think the thing is that if buyers know it can happen they should check before inserting the LD into the Aixiz. It would be far easier to deal with if it is still in its original housing, which can be safely held in a vice to hold it steady as you deal with the problem.

Again thanks for making this possible DDL...no doubt I will be in the market again soon ;)

lol, I ordered 8 the other day, he must've been surprised with the recent swelling in buys...

I'm just surprised there aren't more of these blurays on ebay yet, as of yesterday I saw only 3, it was two before i posted one of mine.

Rog, I agree... It's a hassle dealing with these things and I hate seeing any of these go to waste for no matter what reason it happens to be.

member02, I do see a massive swelling in sales... seems people are trying to get all their orders in before the final cut-off... And on eBay, I'm not really all that surprised to see very few. most people buy these for their own pleasure. ;)

Great, if you haven't already shipped out my first order, then by all means, hold off on sending that untill you get to the other two and then put the extra $5 towards the Forum Fund or something, or you can just keep it, I won't tell. Everyone, no one heard that, right?

Which GB did I make it into and which one are you shipping out now? It's getting a little confusing on when my GB will be ordered and when it will ship to me since there seem to be a few overlapping orders.
