^^ No offense meant or taken. I was just trying to assure others that a few days more or less really doesn't matter if you think about it. After all anyone can order from Kevin direct if they can't wait, they just won't get the larger discount.

The PL650 - 1000mW is very tempting, but a tad too big. Too bad Kevin doesn't offer a HL650-500mW.

I agree that the volume of orders may be down due to saturation. Many folks here have lots of lasers already (thinks of IE and others). But there is always an itch to add another. I'd like to add a 473nm & 589nm to my collection, but prices for those wavelengths is still too high for me, so that day is not here yet. If I could see 405nm better, I'd add a more powerful one, but I can't so it's a waste, which leaves more funds for other wavelengths.

Got you covered :beer: i dont exactly know which diode or Cmount? Kevin uses for his PL650. I think that if it is a Cmount he does not have enough space in the HL host. But i am not sure.

Maybe you can consinder the 473nm in this GB? :) dont know if kevin still offers them though.

Edit: and yes the diffraction can go on HL style hosts. Not on PL hosts.

^^ Kevin no longer lists the 473 on his website although he has a space for it, it's empty. Also I have "no idea" what his price for it would be.

If you check out the Laserbtb site and click on "type", and then click on "portable", and then click on 473nm it will show you what is available, 10mw, 20mw, and 30mw. I see the 30mw is now 541.20. The PL473-30mw was 395 dollars in Offroads GB #2. I know this because I purchased one back then. The unit still works perfectly.

^^ Thanks for the navigation hint. A bit out of my price range, though. (As are the 589's) ....dreams.... of lower prices. Where's EpicHam when you need him?

Epicham? Who is he. Can he get cheap 473 ? Also told kevin where were at with the ammount and all. He said he would not promote it on his site because he thinks lpf gets way more visitors anyway.

He was not negative about the ammount we scraped together :) So that is nice :D

Also i expect some last minute orders. Or at least that wouldbe nice.

Hm but it wouldnt hurt to have a banner on the website for strangers that are not aware this place exists... but thats his decision.

Yeah i dont know if it is a lame excuse or for real. But he can have more reason not to put this on his site. Maybe he wants to keep this GB and his website prices seperate. Or something like that

Hell no :p laserbtb makes most of the profit in industrial markets. They also have equipment for telecommunication lines

To Offroad: My comment about Epicham had nothing to do with the prices for lasers in this thread. There is another (topic on this site) where we were discussing what is the driving factor in lower prices for lasers over time.
