I haven't heard of a CAD file before, I don't know of any program that uses that extension. Do you know what program your friend uses?

No, .CAD is a file type.
I didn't ask, but IIRC he was talking about solidworks or something along those lines. He did ask for a .CAD file, but me may have been talking generally and I didn't pick up on it (like a . Computer-aided design file).

np, I didn't know if you had seen it already or not. The only thing i'm pretty sure it's 2D... so if Pontiac drops you some .ipt from inventor you could make .dwg and convert them to .cad

If its not gonna happen in the next month (Im a little bit out of money after joining this laser stuff^^) I would also take one...
I think this will be the best host to build a handheld while being an "duty-cycle-racist..."

Just a little update guys... I showed the cad drawing to a friend of mine. He said he will make a prototype if I supply the aluminum. So I'll be doing that. Once the outside is made, I'll figure out how we can do the inside of the laser.
