I don't see a power increase from my other lens but the spot looks smaller.

I do really like the lens holders as they are so much easier to work with.

In terms of what we call these lenses, I've said it before....
....and I'll say it again (now that they're in front of me). These are absolutely, positively, without any question whatsoever, G9 lenses
I know there was some discussion of them looking different on a spec sheet somewhere, etc etc etc. Well, I have them both in front of me, and they are identical. Period. No distinction whatsoever. If anyone has any doubt at this stage, just grab one of these lenses and a G9, and measure their dimensions with a micrometer. There is zero difference, and if you mixed the two up, you'd never be able to tell them apart again (because they're the same lens, from the same source). These are the "G9" / stock 9mm diode lenses, mounted in an M9x0.5 frame.
Just logic your way through it. Lots of Chinese sellers are selling just the 9mm diodes.... what do you think they're doing with all those lenses? Tossing them? I'm not complaining - I think it's great! But it's time to call a spade a spade. These are G9 lenses.

I don't know. I have several aspheric lenses that are 6.3mm in diameter and if you put them side by side they look identical, but they're not. One is 12mm focal length, one is 11mm focal length, several are less than 2.4mm focal length, the O-Like lenses are supposedly 4.08mm focal length and I defy anyone to tell the difference by measuring them. To tell you have to set up an optical focal assembly to test like they do with lenses in the ophthalmologist's office. A micrometer is the wrong way to measure anything about a lens except the diameter. That's my two cents.

i'm with you on the dimensions being the same. i haven't done any power output tests myself, but others have said the gb lens outputs slightly LESS than the g2. and other tests have shown the g9 slightly outperforms the g2.
I don't think the 9mm diodes are manufactured with the lens attached. i would think the g9 is sourced separately along with the holder then assembled. olike found the lens manufacturer. just my opinion tho.....

Iirc everyone who did tests on these specific lenses, myself included, found they were slightly less efficient than a g2 in terms of power.

cheech226, the first time I moved out from my parents house was back in 1970 and I moved to New Orleans with my girlfriend who was going to LSUNO at the time. I was working as a shoe salesman of all things and lived in the city just off of Lee's Circle. Back then New Orleans was called the Crescent City and I never ever heard the term " The Big Easy". Who and when did this nickname come from? I lived not to far from Audubon Park on (what was the name of that street that the trolley runs on) and had an apartment in an old house there. Man, that was a long time ago. Anyway, let me know if you wouldn't mind.

Here is what I got with the lens Jim sent. I compared to the G-9. They are definitely different but the O-Like is certainly a good alternative.
The O-Like has a blue reflection which is strange that it performs so well where the G-9 has a gold reflection.
Using the most stable laser I have a 405nm BDR-209 build I tested the two.
So just a slight improvement with the G-9 with 405 but the O-like certainly scores well. It may react slightly differently with 445nm but I wanted to use 405 as 445 has much error in it unless you have them TEC cooled.

First of all I would like to thank everyone who posted results/tests about these lenses! Much appreciated! I am also going to post some results later on, where I used a tec cooled PL520! :beer:

This is an euphemism for New Orleans, like the "Crescent City," that is attributed to Betty Guillaud, a gossip columnist for the Times Picayune, in the '70s as a term of endearment and an answer to the then I Love New York City hype. If it's the "Big Apple" then New Orleans is the "Big Easy," where everything is slower, simpler and easy-going.

Okay. But, can you identify who coined the phrase and when? It is a term I have heard just in maybe the last decade at most, but never knew where it came from. Oh, and BTW, it was St. Charles St. It was beautiful then and I'm happy to hear it is still beautiful. Can you believe my rent back then was $110/ month? Things sure have changed a lot since then.
