First things first, I just got an email from Susie and she agreed to send the lenses for free using DHL! :wave:

About payment it'd be better to send the money to me and then I send them to o-like. You could always select gift/family ;)

I will also go to the post office and update you with shipping costs! ;)

Jim, yeah, but no matter how you send it on PayPal someone (me) has to give a % to PayPal. So, using gift really doesn't save me $$$. If it comes down to one way or the other, I always use payment for goods. It's just good policy, at least that's the way I look at it. I expect to pay $1.50 for shipment if my information is correct. So, just let me know when you want it and I'll get it off to you right away. Thanks, Paul

I was under the impression that everyone's payment would be sent to o-like and they'd eat the PP fees (just like they have to do on ebay)...

If we send the payment to you first PP will get their fees twice (unless you send the money to o-like as gift and that is fee-free, which I'm unsure).

Not everyone can use payment as gift. It's not available here at all due to crappy international policies by poopal. They're not even transparent enough to state the fees beforehand - and I believe they are higher for international...

This might end up being more expensive then getting the lenses on ebay in the end :/

I just checked PayPal's fees policy, it states that when transferring money between family/friends in the US there are no fees. So there are two options:
1) Choose a trustworthy member in the US and all US members send the money to him and then he sends the funds to o-like and I collect all other payments or
2) I get in contact with Susie and everyone send his payment directly to olike.

Tell me which one you guys prefer an I will arrange it as soon as possible!

I think o-like will pay the fees. They do that whenever you buy anything from them with PP, why wouldn't they pay the GB fees?

Paypal (like credit card companies) does not allow merchants to pass on their fees to buyers. You can not have a higher price if someone pays by paypal vs other types of payment. Same as offline stores, they can't have one price for cash and a higher price for credit cards even though they pay fees on card transactions.

Sending to a friend as a gift is not free.

Sending money to friends and family.
Debit/Credit card fee 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction
Outside the US 0.5% to 2% fee when fully funded with your bank account or PayPal balance or 3.4% to 3.9% if paying with a credit or debit card.

Its not a good idea to give paypal access to a bank account.

Truth is: poopal is making a LOT of money to provide very little service and - as added bonus - to act as self-elected trade regulator of the world (they have been trying to forbid lasers for a while).

I agree bitcoin would be ideal... but it's not anonymous and there's no easy/free way to exchange everywhere :/

I'm fine with either one as long as we can get it figured out.
Those PP fees are REALLY getting on my nerves.:banghead::scowl:

o-like is in the US correct?

Also, will they be shipped to jimdt7 and then shipped out to us?

O-like is based in China...and they offered me free DHL shipping to Greece.

In some countries you can link a bank account to paypal. Its not a good idea since paypal has fought to avoid consumer protections & regulation. They can decide to empty your bank account then refund anyone that you have sold items or services to.
If you fund the transaction from a bank account you can send limited "gifts" to friends / family without fees. Use it when buying items or services and they will add their normal fees to all "gift" transactions from then on. You will be banned from using no-fee gift transactions.

You might need to select your country to see paypal fees that apply to you. Paypal - All Countries
