Glad they turned up safe Glenn...I was checking the EMS thing and it still said they were in Brisbane airport :S EMS lies!!!!

The other one was logged at the airport 2 days later, so yeah hopefully only 2 days difference with them.

It's horrible how a day delay here and there can add up so quickly, especially over weekends...and especially when you cop 2 split packages :(

I'm getting some more diodes in anyway, so if anyone wants some just give me a shout and I'll see what I can spare...btw these will be diodes only, harvested, no heatsink or DVD lens assembly...$18 each

The first box had 60 units, I mailed some today, I'll get the rest that I have out tomorrow, and by Saturday, the powers of the universe willing, I'll have all of them sent. Thanks Dan!

By the way these appear to be the same mutilated sleds that amkdeath was selling, same boxes too.

Yes, seems the "samples" I got were of better quality, able to be used in XBox repair...sneaky Chinese :p

hey scopeguy do you think if I'm lucky I'd get the diode by Saturday (tomorrow) or is monday more like it?

My guess is you get it Saturday, but that is a educated guess. I also thought the second box w/b here today, now, I sure hope it's here tomorrow, but Monday is possible. I sure want to get the last few mailed out to you guys as you have all been great to work with on this GB! :) Thanks All! -Glenn

they tried to deliver it today but I was at a dentist appointment and missed it! :'(

one thing I hate more than anything is having to wait till the next day...when the laser is just out of reach..

Recieved mine today, all is good! Customs hit me up for $40., but thats all part of the fun ;)

Quite something to think about the distance that these little boxes have traveled

Thanks Guys! Those are well traveled, Singapore to Australia to California to you! I have been pleased that all of the GB's have been going quite well, aside from one box from the LG GB that was a Hurricane loss, and everybody has been great about the exchanges! Thanks a bunch all!

I received my diodes last week and I tested them all. They indeed look the same as amkdeath's diodes, also with the same incorrect DVD pick-up boxes.

The first two died mysteriously and were internally shorted. (one after I measured it to be strong and the other instantly), three are unusually weak (Until now, I've only seen one below 90mW), four are situated around the average (some below some above) and one is very very strong (although sadly enough not as strong as my strongest PHR ever)

In the graph, the maximum recommended currents, found using my algorithm, are circled.
