Yes, it will be in the same plastic lens nut, so it will fit wherever the AixiZ nut fits. It was designed to fit into the AixiZ lens nut, because the AixiZ imodule is used in most lasers, and many other modules are pretty much identical.

The multilayer is meant for 650nm, yes. It should work with 405nm as well (or any other wavelength), but it might decrease the power a tiny bit, compared to a 405nm coated lens only. So i only ordered a few of the multilayer ones, for comparison.

The Multilayer ones also cost a bit more. Since we only make red and Blu Ray, the multilayer one could be replaced by a 650nm only coated lens. It's an option.

The third option would be to have all of them multilayer coated. Then, it wouldn't matter what laser you use it in. But we need to do some testing, before we figure out what is best for what...

Put me down for 1 405 lens. How much to have it complete in a aixiz housing?

I'm in for Three (3) AR Coated for 405nM , pre-installed in the plastic AiXiz nut Please.

Just let me know the final cost with shipping to the good old USA, and where to send the funds!!!.

Thanks for your work on this!!

I don't even know the exact price of the lens yet.. It will depend on the number ordered and the cost of shipping from the factory to me.
The price of the lens in the lens nut also depends on where i'll be getting the AixiZ lens nuts at that time.. Daedal is sending me some, but if the lenses work, i'm gonna need MUCH more than that, it would seem.

If anyone knows, where i can get / buy just the nuts, that would help A LOT! I don't want to discard entire AixiZ modules, just to get to the lens nut.

Other than the coating, it would be good if i also know about the lens nuts (with or without)..

If not mentioned, i will assueme 405nm AR coating + lens nut.. If there are mistakes on the list, please let me know.

Also, i hope everyone realizes we are not ordering anything just yet. I am waiting to receive the samples, so i can test them and report the results.
After we know the exact results, we can start the real order.

This here is just a feeler, to figure out the final price, which will depend on the quantity ordered.. At the moment it would seem, that we could have at least one more production run started.

Oh Yeah! I want them mounted, I don't work at the optics shop anymore, so I have no vacuum lens holder to use for touch free mounting. I miss that job!

Wow!!! If everything comes out right, i probably would get 1 405nm single element lens already mounted in the plastic lens nut.

I'll take 1 405nm coated lens fitted inside of an AixiZ nut please.
Hopefully these will be more spectacular than they sound. ;D

We will know that soon enough.

I will have a chance to do some measurements on more sophisticated equipment tomorrow, so i'll try to figure out exactly, how much room for improvement there is - depending on the actual raw output from the diode.

But whatever comes out, this lens is still designed specifically for 405nm, so it should be good at it. There is no reason it shouldn't bring out the maximum possible.

The largest benefit would come from using them with a 6x diode. At the moment, a considerable percentage is being wasted in the lens, doing nothing else but warming the lens up and making it age faster.

I think you should do that. Do the 405nm AR coted lenses. And the 650nm AR coted lens. As far as DIY's go in this group. I think we would all benefit more this way. There isn't much in the way of DIY in 532,473,780+ As there is for Blu Rays and Reds.

Yeah, it's an option, and we could save a little money this way.. The 650nm AR only coating might even let a mW or two more through, than the multilayer coating.

The "samples" i ordered will mostly contain 405nm lenses, and some multilayer ones.. But if we order more after testing, the multilayer ones could be replaced with 650nm AR coated lenses. That is, if everyone is ok with it...

The reason i ordered some multilayer coated lenses is mainly to compare the power to 405nm coated lenses. We will know more soon.

Of course, since the coatings are a separate process, done at the end, we can order any combination we want...

Made some more precise measurements with different lenses, and updated post #2.

The actual raw power of the diode is still not known precisely, because some of the light cone hits the inner walls of the AixiZ module, before it could come out. I will do more measurements with a bare diode outside of an AixiZ module, as soon as i have some time.. This measurement is important, because it determines, how much room for improvement there is..

I'd be in for  1 (one)

Mounted in Aixiz

Count me in for 1 x 405nm as well (preferably in the AixiZ nut)
