Wait, Is there a multi coated lens? If so I would want one, if not then I'll take a 405nM coated lens.

I believe, that all the lenses from the first batch i have, have a multilayer coating.. They were packaged separatelly, and one bag said 405nm, the other 400-720nm, but i kinda think they are the same. It was probably easier to give all the same coating.

I asked the new manufacturer to check which of their coating options would achieve the lowest reflections at 405nm. The lowest reflection coating would produce the highest transmittance for the lens.

It is possible, that their multilayer will have better propeties for 405nm, than single layer MgF2. In this case, the same lens could be used for reds.

If not, there will be a separate lens for reds.

Or is there another reason you ask about the ML coating?

If you get good results, id be in for one too.
Damn, why did i ever built my first red diy laser.
That freaking thing got me started on the laser hobby, and it is draining my cash ;D ;D

It is actually for my Kryton groove. So when I kill my PHR 803T, and I want a long open can, I don't need to change anything but the current and the diode.

So if/when you kill your blu, you're not gonna repair it? Don't you like blu? I hardly ever pick up my reds anymore.. :)

Otherwise, yeah, it's actually quite likelly, the best coating would be the multilayer.. I was looking at their graphs, and it reduces reflections down to 0.2%.

Amen, Brutha!

The batteries in my reds last forever. ;)

I'm trying to talk the manufacturer into throwing a few samples into their coating machine...

But if they should think it's too much hassle for just a few lenses, i was thinking we could first make a "mini GB" first..
This would be for those of us, who don't care about the  exact percentage, but just want the best lens for their blu rays.

I know at least a few of us would probably like this, and we could get the final lenses sooner this way. And our tests would then tell everyone else what to expect..

That is IF they don't want to coat some samples..

Yeah, how are you gonna get 330mW? Are you gonna lower the current? :p

Hey Alex!

You don't need to join the GB for your lens..
You're on a special list.. You're getting one from me. ;)

To all:
The manufacturer has been slow to respond, as my contact is away. Too many vacations at this time of the year. I wish i could take a vacation!

But i'm taking some time off, to focus on finalising the lenses.

If the third manufacturer can finally send me their lenses before i confirm the order with the second one, i'll test those too.
