Tech is right. Starting this year for paypal accounts in the US which receive more than $20,000 per year Paypal is required by law to report those "earnings" to the IRS and you will be taxed on them. Just stay under $20,000.

Yeah, I just had the 10 orders because I wasn't sure how popular they would be or what price they would be, but I highly doubt 10 people would order at the new price...

Like I said above, I understand your concerns and are willing to do anything reasonable to alleviate not only yours but anyone else's concerns on the forums of avoiding scammers to be allowed on the forum.

Just putting this out there, would you be interested in being the PP middleman in this transaction? I kinda like the idea of a more well known member dealing with the money while I deal with the more logistical side of things.

That's good kmiller to put this offer out there. That should go a long way in quelling fears. Hopefully a vet will offer to do this...

Not entirely true. Anything over $650 has to be declared now. There is a thread on the forum that explains it. I just dont have time to look for it. PP has been sending notices out about it too, because they have to provide you with the form information.

Re: 100mW Waterproof Green $68 1W Blue $187 GB#3

It seemed pretty cut and dry to me when i read through it all. Here is the meat:
"Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 6050W?

Under the new legislation, PayPal will be required to report to the IRS the total payment volume received by PayPal customers in the US who:

* Receive more than $20,000 in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single year, AND
* Receive over 200 payments in a single year.

The IRS changes will apply to all payment providers, including PayPal. They will take effect for sales that occur on or after January 1, 2011, with the first reports going to the IRS in early 2012. Our goal is to help PayPal sellers understand and comply with the new requirements.

Before your payment volume exceeds the reporting thresholds, you will be required to verify your identity by adding a Tax Identification Number, such as a,Social Security Number (SSN), or Employer Identification Number (EIN), to your existing account(s)."

Good lord, please tell me you are joking? If $68 is that big a deal you really shouldn't be buying a laser in the first place.

I know there have been a bunch of scammers around here. I get that, but I still like to have at least a basic trust of people until they don't deserve it. This is actually a pretty low risk (Cost wise), even if things went really south.

I suppose I *could* see it a little bit more if someone was ordering a blue, especially since these are sight unseen. However I would be more concerned with the source of the lasers rather then Killer Bee running off with your money. :san:

Sorry folks, I'm not very well medicated today, please excuse the rant. :p

I am 14 Too!
I never get any allowance, i have to buy and sell stuff to make money, namely computers and airsoft guns, minecraft accounts and donations from my server.
I got my 68$ from my minecraft server.. In Donations. So, saying 68$ ISNT alot of money is BS, it can be worth alot to someone.
Then again, i will rethink my withdraw of the 68$, keep me in the list, if i see anyting pointing out as a red flag, i wont buy!
I can always wait too.

Alright, I agree that money is relative. To some $68.00 seems like a small amount, but I do forget that I have been working in the tech industry for longer then some of you have been alive. :) I get it though, I used to be your age and didn't have any income to speak of.

I guess what I was trying to say, rather poorly, is that in the world of lasers, $68 is a very small amount. I've managed to spend close to $700 in just a couple of months.

While I don't know kmiller8 personally or bought anything from him before, at least this laser is a known (at least in the previous two group buys) good laser, consistently above spec, and I don't think you will find a much better deal. Of course your mileage may very. I will say that if I hadn't already spent so much, I would be getting at least two more of these for myself.

Edit: Sorry kmiller, I hope I didn't detail your thread too much. :(

@jcr yeah I see lasers @$900.. But as a kid with no job and no allowance its hard to get money but we are not poor. I get my money by selling Beats By Dres, and Watches, and modded xbox & PS3 controllers. But its hard to sell in this economy with any1.. (PM for link)

Thanks bunches Yob for that, I'll try to keep it under $20k this year (Sure hope I dont :p)

Understood, I'm going to just flat out remove Blue from the GB, its WAY too much...

Ash, you were on that list, be expecting a PM

Exactly, but the thing is, as mentioned before too many people have started out scamming in the forums, and I respect each and every piece of doubt someone would have against a "new" member organizing a multi-hundred $$$ GB.

On another note. Expect the $68 to drop sometime later since we don't have to worry about those pesky overpriced blue lasers :D

I really want to shoot for 15 lasers this GB I say we wait 1 week from now and if we haven't gotten our 15 we'll just place the order, but we do need a minimum of 10.

EDIT: PRICE DROP, back to the original GB#1 price of $65! How is this possible one might ask, with the $68/$187 pricing I was taking a $10 loss on the blue, with a $5 gain on the green (hence 10 green/5 blue). with the Blue lasers removed from the GB, the price can drop even further!
Q: But why not $68-$5 = $63??
A: If no other problems arise, I may drop the price to $64, but as of right now I think $65 is reasonable for incase there is a bad laser and it needs to be shipped back.

As for the middleman idea, if someone can find a more reputable person to do it I am still up for it, but I think with the WAY OVERPRICED blue lasers out of the way it brings the max total to sub $1k which isn't nearly as much as what it could have been.

Thats all fine if you actually meet, talk, and judge who you are dealing with.
