How does the laser feel in hand and have you done any burning with it?:thinking:

If you payed through paypal he should have posted the Tracking number there.

I can't find it. It may have been because I sent the payment as a gift. (I think)

I trust Yob and compared to what I have been spending lately, $65.00 isn't too much even if things went really badly wrong. :)

I only started thinking about tracking info today, since you guys started posting that you got yours and I'm stuck at work. The curosity is killing me. :D

WHAT!??!?!?!?! It sounds like You need to read the sickys more often and in general because this wouldnt have happened if you had. Sending money through PP transaction as a GIFT is a major NO-NO!!!!!!! In other words it can cause troubles, lots too.
Im not trying to harass, thats not what why I'm telling you this. Just so you know im just letting you know that there have been countless problems when this has happened before. I doubt that because you send the money as a GIFT that it had anything to do with you not getting a tracking number but I thought itd be nice to pass those words of advice on to you :) If you do that with some members you might just end up getting told that they dont want to do business with you. You never know these days.

Anyway, I hope you get your laser before you get the TN and everything works out for you :D I love those days where you feel like its never ever going to get to your door step, you have no clue where on the planet it could be and then it arrives when youve lost all hope! lololl :crackup::crackup: Thats always the best!!!!

Take care and all the best to you!

In hand it feels to be a somewhat cheap metal but sturdy so it's ok. But i had to oil all the O-rings and threaded parts because they made horrendus sounds when turned against each other.

I haven't tried any serious burning yet, but i was able to melt black plastic from ~5ft away ;)

it is SOMEWHAT focusable also.

Also it is waterproof :D

Tip Submerged:

Completely Underwater:

<3 Waterproof camera :p

Well, I'll be AFK for a few hours, hopefully you guys get your lasers later today too!

Just for the record, I am not worried about a tracking number. I never even gave it any thought before today.

@Jollyrajer73
No offense taken. :)
Your points are all well taken and were considered before I ever sent payment. If this is considered some hard and fast rule, my appologies to anyone that may have had concerns. However I've only seen it mentioned as a reply to a sticky and not part of the OP.

I understand the risks with sending money though paypal this way and I accept them. There are only a handful of people on here that I would trust enough to do that with. Yob is one of them and I thought it would be nice to try and avoid any additonal PP fees since he had taken it upon himself to host the group buy. And considering he ended up with a bum laser for all his troubles, I'm glad I did.

My point about the lack of tracking number from paypal, was since it was a gift, they may not even allow a person to enter a tracking number. i.e. no item that ships, no tracking number is necessary.

The lack of a shipping / tracking email from paypal may also be because it's just plain been overlooked. One of the things I did early on was link my PP id to an RSA token. They only send a single one of these and because of that, it stays in my wife's purse for safe keeping. This also means she normally makes the payments and gets the emails. To say her email is overrun with spam would be a massive understatement. :p

Again, wasn't trying to sound like I was complaining about a lack of tracking number. I wasn't at all worried about it.

I guess I got a 130. Still more than expected :D. seems to stay at the initial power which is nice. I cut myself on the host however, when I went to pick it up without looking my hand rubbed against the small metal ridges that are used as grips. No real worry unless your finger tips are raw. Also the beam is pretty much as off center as it can be given the dimensions of the hole. But these are minor problems, I LOVE the laser it's self. I'de recommend jumping in the GB#2. Also, it does light matches after 2 or 3 seconds.
EDIT: Did anyone else try to submerge their laser? Right afterwards mine looks like this

I'm sure it'll be fine after the water evaporates though.

if it dosen't you'll need to "buff" the outer glass with a dry qtip to get a nice clean finish, I have had this problem multiple times with multiple lasers.

Yep, I thought about that. I'm either waiting on or working on 5 more hand held units and one ML Argon, so I have a lot of updating to do.

Guess it's going to be time to add a signature as well soon.

Did I mention today is the Oaks (The big race before the Kentucky Derby), so it looks like our letter carrier took the day off. No mail at all for me today. That's even worse then a pink slip in the mailbox. :(

Edit: Oh yeah almost forgot, going tomorrow to meet a friend I haven't seen in years to get a HeNe from him complete with power supply (For free no less). Hope it still works, I think he's had it in storage for years now.

Woot! I guess our letter carrier just took a long lunch at the track! She showed up later then she ever has before. I was worried when I first saw the condition of the package. Our mail system at it's finest. (I work for a large shipping company, so my opinion is somewhat biased though) Never fear though the contents were completely undamaged.

Looks like I got a 125. Very pleased with it. While I couldn't get it to light a match I did murder a poor black balloon. I need to invest in a tripod one of these days, I can't hold a laser steady enough to keep it at one point for a match. :)
