This is a really neat Flash movie which explains how to conceptually visualize dimensions higher than the 3.5 that we normally live in. Obviously this movie makes some logical shortcuts to make this all understandable (so leave your nitpicky physics professor at the door) but it really can help you to "see" what the idea of a "higher dimension" means.

And no, there is no planet run by apes in any of the higher dimensions. It's run by sentient machines! ;)

I think it was Tallaxo who posted this video here a year or so ago in the OT section, it is a great video though! This does deserve to be posted in this section.

+but we can only travel forward in time not backwards so it 3.5 not 4.I showed it to my dad and he liked it so he bought the book.

Didn't you see the vid? It's like the 2D guy in the vid. He can only visualize the 3rd dimension by observing as it passes through, he sees snippets of it.

Same thing here. We live in the 3rd dimension, but we can visualize the 4th dimension.

it is possible to travel back and forth through time. all you need is a rip in time at 2 different points in time and you'd be able to travel between them either way. only problem is ripping a hole in the space time continuum which they are apparently trying to do with harsh sound waves. read this a while ago in popular science.

If by "your kind" you mean black, well than I too am of "your kind" and I've thought that I've been taken seriously around here. Although I wouldn't mind changing my avatar, it was a quick MS Paint job that has lasted me nearly 500 post.
