When it comes to guns and lasers, of course, banning them would be a stupid knee jerk reaction, but personally, I believe that exposives are banned for good reason. Sure, guns and lasers don't do anything of their own volition, but if a battery can easily explode under certain circumstances, I wouldn't want my next door neighboor to be stockpiling TNT.

If a high powered laser somehow malfunctions in your house, which is highly unlikely, You have a hole in your curtains. If a handgun somehow goes off in your house, which is highly unlikely, you have a hole in your wall or ceiling(hopefully that's all). If your nitroglycerin stockpile goes off in your house(which is highly likely since explosives aren't always the most stable of things), Your house, and possibly your neighbors' houses take damage.

Thanks people who are sending emails about this. Im Swedish myself and I just got my first three 5mW lasers. It's terrible as I was about to get a new hobby with this.
:banned:

Was thinking about these laser licensenses... they're 700 USD every year if the laser output is more than 30mW. If it's 30mW it's still 100 a year. My lasers got a return policy 30 days. Not sure if I should send them back or not.

This puts you in a odd position - Are your lasers grandfathered in? Or is it across he board changes? In the US most of the time (like in the case of our fully auto machine guns) If you own something pre-ban, it is still yours...However, if you don't already have one.. tough shit. (parden my french). I know i've been dumping quite a bit of money buying lasers from inside the US, and outside..With hopes I will have decent stock pile, should anything happen here.
