This doesn't sound great, where are the goggles from? And are you sure they are for the green wavelength? 532nm.

I have a set of dragonlasers goggles for my green lasers and when wearing them my 150mW green laser is a really dim spot, hardly noticeable.

Put the goggles quick in front of the laser to make sure that they are actually blocking light, you should only see a very dim spot after the laser has gone through the goggles.

If they are the correct goggles, and are blocking most of the light so the laser is below 5mW, then you may just have sensitive eyes :)

I got my GLP-532 From Glenn a few days ago, (Thanks btw!!!), and it does ~135mw. I also got some safety glasses. I wear them at all times when burning. Though a few minutes ago, I was melting black electrical tape. I had the glasses on, but the spot can still be quite bright! Especially as the tape melts to a point at which the light reflects towards you. I try and angle the laser in a direction at which it doesn't reflect my direction, but as I said, when it melts, the reflection angle changes.

Anyway, it reflected right at my glasses, and hurt my eyes a little, so I know if I didn't have them on, it might not have been a good thing. My question is, though, is this perfectly safe with safety glasses when this happens?

P.S. Anyone else feel like they are still wearing the glasses after taking them off? lol

Thanks!

I got the glasses from Glenn. I think he got them CNI, maybe? The case they came in has a label with LS-R on it. I took the laser and shined it though the glasses for a second, the spot is definitely visible, but it seems to be quite under 5mw. Put it this way, I'm able to look at the spot on a white wall with hardly any after image. Though it is a green spot, looks to be at 1mw-3mw, (guessing..) When viewing the spot from your glasses, it is green still, right? Not like "white".

Here is an image of the glasses:

I'm pretty sure these are for 532nm, as it would be pretty obvious if it wasn't, right? Like it wouldn't be orange/red?

Maybe I do just have sensitive eyes?

Just check the OD rating for 532nm. It are proper laser safety goggles, so the have an OD rating, right? If not, determine the OD before using them. For crude protection you can check if the spot you can see is low power, but I really recommend something with a proper OD rating, or for serious use (high power, class 4) some certified goggles.
