I have no experience with Dragon Lasers and if their products are certified or not. But if those specs are true and certified to US standards, then those would be more than enough for handheld violet lasers.

They are, and I've seen multiple videos in which I can barely even see the dot.

I know the real goggles are designed to protect you from direct hits, but not intentional direct hits. if you purposely shine a laser in your eye, then you should'nt have one to begin with. By no means am I saying laser goggles are a waste of money, and I highly recommend people to buy them but if you dont have any at the time, and _MUST_ play with your lasers, its better to use something than nothing.

Could I use non-laser goggles if I'm just looking at the dot inside of a cardboard box, and there is no possible chance of getting hit in the eye?

Hey, I'm rather interested in the ability of these "red laser enhancement" goggles to block green laser light. Has anyone purchased / tested these with say a 30mW and above green laser?

This thread is kind of old... I know better now.  ;D Don't use red enhancements, the Dragonlaser ones are twice the price but they're certified and have a good OD selection. They are rather useful in testing for IR however...

Well, looking on google it seems other laser enthusiasts believe these goggles should be absolutely safe for power ranges under 100mW (some say these things are even better, but I wouldn't know / care about higher power levels). I mean, for about $13, I'd be willing to try them out and do some self testing.

^Who do you trust with your eyesight, "other laser enthusiasts" on google with some hobby experience and hobby/DIY test equipment who are looking to save a buck, or experts with proper/professional test equipment and years of experience who are also bound by contract and by law to adhere to well-established safety guidelines? I know where I put my trust.
