What about using an old 8mm movie projector screen for lumia. spiro etc. The second hand shops are practically giving them away= I have three 'regular' sized ones and I got a 6 footer from a hotel 'garage' sale($5) that I attached to the ceiling in my 'laser room', makes even low powered lasers show nicely and when I dont want to use it it rolls back up. Another 'hakzaw1 find of the day'-- thanks to all for your opinions. ;-) Len

Projector screens are great for their high reflectivity and florescence of bluray.. If you were to set up a RGV scanner (using a bluray diode for the V) it would appear pretty close to RGB, since the florescence of 405nm is pretty damn blue.

Basically they're nothing of interest, though if you need a surface to project a scanned laser image to, a projector screen is a fantastic choice. I'm not sure if your "movie screens" are built using the same materials as standard projector screens, but if they are they're a good surface to project laser images onto.

Very good idea! Only thing I would worry about is exceeding the MPE from the specular reflections on high power lasers.

I worry too-like a lot of noobs until a few yrs back I was pretty much not worried about anything but direct hits - I fear I may have watched my home laser show too often and for too long as for the last yr or two my eyesight seems to be worse and when I go outside on a super bright day I need my sunglasses bigtime. OR I'm just getting old - I am not a senoir member(yet) but I am a member and a senoir. And yes I have some really good multi-band goggles but that horse may be out of the barn already- Younger LPF members should take a lesson from my mistakes.---Hak
