Anyone have experiance with the o-like safety glasses?

Like these for example?

They list as OD-5 or better but are pretty inexpensive so wanted feedback before ordering.

I have a pair that I purchased off of eBay (T-Rex if I recall) and I do not think that they are very good so want to replace them (to quote "A Christmas Story") "before I shoot my eye out".

Yes, IMHO the goggles that sell O-Like, don't have a lot of quality, certainly.

I have 2 models of these companie, one for blue-green, and one for red.

Do not have the protection (OD) advertised (I have tested this), and in case of accidental direct exposure of the laser beam of some power, can be dangerous for the eye.

In addition, the VLT is not very good (is the amount of light that let pass thru the goggles, except the wavelength that has to block), more higher is the %, then is better.

I would not recommend it, especially if you use them with a certain power lasers.

And if you can spend more, on this site have excellent goggles too.

There are other companies, but with these 2, you have a large choice.

Choose the specific model for your laser wavelength and power.

Even Susie from o-like wouldn't recommend those for cheap goggles for 1W+ lasers.

If you take a look on their site, they do sell more expensive goggles that are also by eagle pair. Those should work fine, but so far there have been no reviews for them.

I wouldn't trust them. If you find a review that tested them it could help, but I'd recommend certified laser safety eyewear anyway. It's your eyes you're talking about after all.

Hi I am looking for some cheap goggles that are able to block 589nm, I don't want to spend a fortune just to be able to LPM test a laser that are peaking at about 89mv.
Any suggestions, the cheap o-like are from 590nm damn.

No, is for the laser of mikzip and only 89mW laser, @notahardwareguy, NOT FOR YOU

I don't really understand what you bare trying to say, but anyhow I haven't been able to locate anyone that are blocking 589nm below us$100 :beer:

Also for purposes of LPMing only... why can't you set things up, run the meter, close your eyes, turn the laser on, wait a minute or so, turn off the laser, open eyes?

Sorry didn't read more than the name of the goggles, but a bit misleading: 600nm-780nm Red Laser Protection Goggles then down they say 580-780, so what to believe if they themselves can't get it right?

I believe it will be a bit difficult to meter it with my eyes closed, it is a momentary clicky

I ordered a pair of green laser goggles from o-like "T-Rex" kind , they seem ALRITE for a 50mw green laser i was pointing my laser around my room and something in my room reflected back and the goggles definitely helped my eyes( i wouldn't be shining around like that if i didnt have goggles ) hope that helps anyone. I'd so say that anything higher then 50mw these goggles wouldn't help very much.
