Hey I was just wondering about night vision goggles for laser safety goggles. I think it would work, because you could see everything clearly, and you're only looking at screens so if you get hit, it will only be as bright as the camera screen can get. It's pretty much the same thing as gluing two camera electronic viewfinders to your eyes, if you know what I mean. People look into lasers all the time with those to look for IR. Plus, you would be able to see IR and UV! I think it's a good idea, let me know what you think. ;D

This one is 60$, and the reviews say you can barely see a wall 50 away in darkness, and even better if you attatch your own infrared LEDs! I might buy a pair to test this out, but I probably wouldn't if someone else can. :D DISCLAIMER: Use with high powered lasers at your own risk, so you gus don't sue me for breaking your night vision camera. ;D ;D ;D

Yeah it would work, but you might end up burning the camera CCD :p better than burning your retinas I suppose.

I wonder if I could use them , I can't focus on anything closer than 1.5-2.0 inches away from my eyes so I might not be able to focus on the screens, which could be a problem for others too .

EDIT : never mind I see how it works now :p

Yeah, it's like those movie glasses people take on planes. :) If it hit the camera, the worst that could happen would be a few spots, which isn't too annoying. And like you said, better that then your eyes. ;D

No, not always. Depends on what kind. But if you cover up the IR light, it would mosly be the same. Plus you could do cool stuff like test for IR and see through Coke. ;D

And to answer your question about different colors, lasers are such BRIGHT lights that the color would shine through all of the greenness.
