Need calculation / formula help please (Android App)

While I enjoy math (hence, my name :) ), I have never had to do laser safety (or any other laser) calculations before, so I don't fully understand it. However, in an effort to help others who, like myself, can't do these calculations, I've decided to create both a webpage and Android app for doing these calculations. I want them to be as thorough as possible, yet also simple enough for someone without the knowledge to be able to use it. To do this, I am going to need some help from someone who is good at the math behind it, and can help me fully understand it, and possibly come up with the equations (through code that is) for it. I'll start with the webpage (using javascript most likely, so it will be simple to port to Android), which will make testing and validation quicker, then port to an Android app.

If you can help, it would be great if you had Skype or Google+ (GTalk / Hangouts) to make communication easier - could probably be knocked out pretty fast. Don't worry - I don't need you to know how to program / code, just know the math behind it :)

Once the webpage / app are complete, I'll post them on this forum for everyone's use :)

[UPDATE]
Work In Progress, but can be viewed here: (UI will come last, working on functionality first)

Very good idea. Sadly I don't know any equations. I hope someone here can help out with this.

You could use this free version instead.

That's pretty similar to what I want to create - but without any registration, completely free, and both a webpage (no download needed, right there on the page) and an Android app (portable!) - basically, convenience!

In reality, how many people who are slightly curious are going to want to register and download software? I want to provide something quick and easy to use, so that maybe more people will think twice about safety. Plus, the app will also translate into "layman" terms :p

Am not exactly sure what your looking for just laser safety related calculations? or any calculations that are laser related? That could also include some common electronics formulas too. There is a site for common optical calculations here: Welcome to Luxpop! Index of Refraction & Photonics Calculations.
and you may find some things here:
Sam's Laser FAQ: Welcome Page
or go straight to the TOC for that site here:
Sam's Laser FAQ Comprehensive Table of Contents
And you can find info on most anything laser related but you would have to do some searching to find what your looking for.
