LedShoppe 50mw IR leakage?

I think there should be no problem looking at a dot from a ledshoppe 50mw pointer for lets say 20-30 seconds. your eyes will be stressed, of course, but looking at the dot should not be that dangerous at all.

Whether IR leakage is dangerous or not is an argument that has been going on for years. I personnally think it's not dangerous, because the IR stays collimated with the green so well enough that you would have to be shining the green right next to your eye to get IR in it (which you should know never to do anyways). If you live in the US, I would get the OEM goggles. The shipping is so high on the DLs that they would be the same price. And your LEDshoppe laser is leaking IR; they always do.

The green light from your laser is much more dangerous than any IR leakage from it.
