In my travels I happened upon these: OD4+ 190nm-2000nm IPL Laser Lighting Protective Safety Glasses Goggles CE: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific and wondered if anyone has seend them. I assume that if it really does cover all these wavelenghts, it might be hard to see anything.

Yes, I know that generally you get what you pay for it is just that I see there are people here that look for cheaper glasses and if there are some that are acceptable, better that they pick those.

The first one I am not believing. The second one is believable, but someone here would need to buy and test them.

broadband laser safety goggle = blindfold. unless theres something someone isn't telling me, then you would need X Ray vision to see though them if they really blocked that range with an optical density of 4+.

i have the green and blue ones from here: http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Protectio...39953315&sr=8-1&keywords=laser+safety+goggles

and they work verry well. the green ones for 400nm-500nm, and the blue ones work very well for 638. neither one works well for my 650-660nm red cheap laser though.

There are three of these from the Amazon site...red, blue and green. Has anyone tested these?

the HDE ones work very well, as i just said. i dont know about the red, but blue blocks 638nm well, and the green ones blocked my 405nm completely (before i broke it) and they work great with my 445nm laser. the red ones i assume work well, as they are most common and most, even the cheapest ones, work. i dont know about the yellow ones for 405nm though, i'd have to test them.

they're built very well though, super solid for plastic.

Do you think they are as good as the Eagle...will they hold up to the higer powered 445s?

well, it seems HDE just has good safety glasses! i think its safe to assume that their UV safety glasses would work, since all of the other ones do. except for 650-660nm. the blue ones cant block my cheap red laser from china, but they can block the 638nm... very odd. the green ones can't very well either.

Probably not as good, but if I remember right they will protect you from a direct hit from a 2W laser. Sorry I don't have a link at the moment to the 2 threads. These were also tested: Amazon.com: Uvex S0360X Ultra-spec 2000 Safety Eyewear, Orange Frame, SCT-Orange UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens: Home Improvement and even though they aren't laser safety glasses they are very effective for violet and blue. Again there is a thread somewhere with destructive testing and they performed very well.
I also have these: E-TING Blue Safety Glasses 492nm-770nm Red Green Yellow Laser Eye Protection Goggles Blue - - Amazon.com they are darker than they look in the photo, notice they have "T-REX" printed in one corner. I don't recommend these as very good for red lasers, they may be good enough for looking at the dot and burning, but be aware they won't protect you from a direct hit.

Forgive me for opening up this thread but im a little T ead off. Ok I only have 1 red laser thats somewhat powerfull at 115mw 650nm and dont plan on anymore anytime soon. I took the better than nothing route an ordered a blue pair from fasttech and waited 3 weeks due to they were out of stock. these are OD +4 and are rated from 590nm to 690nm. These glasses due absolutely nothing tried them for curiousity on my green 532nm and nothing. Are these just junk or are they for something? Anybody please before I smash them. I literally got them in the mail 15 min. ago:yabbmad: Micheal Rosen mabey you figured out why

i have no idea. maybe theyre just the cheap ones i got but re labeled. for some reason mine hardly work at all for the 650/660nm (though its likely to be 660nm) laser i have. that sucks though, you should definitely contact the company about it.

they wont work for a 532nm laser becuase they were not made for them, but they should work with the red laser if the specs are correct.

Thanks, they have that HDE look but no printing on them what so ever. Il wait a bit to find out the deal but your right $9 is $9 so il just contact fasttech probably.:)

oh i just looked, those cant be the HDE ones. WAY to light colored, mine are like a deep blue not sky blue like that.

Thanks for looking them up, they are more skyblue than your dark ones. They sure did copy the HDE look. The thing is when I said they do nothing they really do nothing. Its like looking through a clear pair of glasses. I dont have a 638nm red to check but all truth I dont see them doing a thing on that wavelength either and as I said they were rated at 590 to 690. So buyer be ware!:toilet:

No not yet Im actually going to try tomorrow on their chat line 1 being other companys that are based out of China dont give you access to it on Sundays ive tried before and im just not in the mood or even know what to do yet like a return or credit. Would you know off hand if I would have to pay return postage? Thanks:)
