Alright FlutterPie...

I will admit that may have been over the top, but the fact that some people just use them as they are toys just builds up anger inside me because I know how easy these accidents(that could happen) be avoided.

Well if you buy a expensive laser you should at least understand the dangers with it. Common, it's common sense.

Unfortunately, common sense doesn't come naturally to everyone.

Also he's very young. So when he sees something cool, he isn't going to necessarily think of the dangers. To him it's just a cool toy. Which basically is what my lasers are to me. Difference is I know the dangers and can safely, and responsibly use them.

To err is human, forgive divine. That green laser Youtuber Skater533 is a juvenile with a long way to go which is best with retinas intact. Santa needs to place a pair in his X'mas socks asap! His video garnered as many similar Youtube comments in support as well as those concerned for his eye health. It's a bit young to start but on the other end of the age scale, some of us don't even know when to stop (like me!). In some places, they're already into BB guns and .22 calibre anyway so safety education makes a difference. But I bet they don't practice on black PVC cushion stools at home to invite a sound belting.

The problem is not the kid, his parents are the problem.

Seriously? He's like between 11 and 13 I'd say. He doesn't know what hes doing, but that doesn't mean he should blind himself.

YES I know a some guys who are +30years and don´t know that lasers can be dangerous.

A DJ once asked me if I have a 100mW laser, he want to get more attention from the crowd :tinfoil:

PM´ing the little boy on his YT channel and sending him info and/or threads what can happen, is max. education we can do.

No need to blind him for not wearing goggles :shhh:

The video above is disturbing. More and more I think that powerful laser equipment should be 18+ restricted. I guess sense isn't common these days, and it's people like KipKay that are propagating this silly ideology that lasers can be safely used without safety equipment. Sure, he doesn't deserve to lose his vision, but he certainly shouldn't be in possession of a laser that could quite easily cause himself or anyone else serious damage as he obviously doesn't understand the implications.

I agree with you OZ, Kip has made many videos with complete lack to safety. I would also think "wanting" for him to become blind is over the top but I do hope he knows LUCK can only save you so many times before IT HAPPENS.

OK TBH
I found LPF due to Kip- and since then (at first)I became one of his harshest critics BUT..

he HAS stepped up the safety aspect- AND he has sent thousands of new members our way-(mostly a good thing) and if those do not study here and learn safety that is no fault of Kip's.

IIRC I think I read that Kip is the top $ earner from his laser posts. so dont expect him to give away that cash cow.

I hate to tell you this but I have 3 lasers from WL.
If the temperature is good and a real good cell, mine will
meet spec. power. Understand that these are portables
and power is limited to short duty cycles mostly by the cell.
My OLD Spyder III Krypton goes over 1 Watt if the dust cover
is removed - that can cost ~500 mW.

I find it disturbing that anyone would wish blinding by laser on ANYONE.

Such things can be nothing but bad for all.

btw just how many here go off their high horse and wrote to ABC and GMA about that terrible on sided tripe they pass off as journalism-??
so if you REALLY want to help laser fans you will put that off no longer=

Bashing Kip takes more time than writing ABC- if they dont hear from many we will lose that battle and many more-- whatever you excuse is I call BULLCHIT.

Must I spoon feed you guys a link?? Do I need to write your complaint for you??
go NOW and follow the link in P man's thread- if you dont then you will have no right to bitch when laws get passed that will kill this hobby.
